RYZEN 5000 SERIES NOW ONLINE - 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X COMING NOV 5TH AT 5PM **NO COMPETITORS**

Yeah, £40 is a bit of markup but doesn't look like i'm getting one from OCUK before Christmas (514 in the que) sadly. Now I just need to find a 3080 or 6800xt in stock somewhere :D

That fair. I almost gave in to pre-order a 5950x for next Tuesday delivery for £820 but considering time frame for delivery and the mark-up I left it and talked myself out of it.

some people must have more money than sense to be paying so much over the RRP for these chips.....

**im just jealous btw, if i was single with money to burn id be doing the same thing :)

A well known vowel buyer is now taking pre-orders for 5900x - £560 but expected in stock on 31st December. Might be worth it for those who are not already in the OCUK queue...

I would be careful with the deciphered names as I just got a two day ban for making a similar comment saying there was stock at a certain shop.

I had an order in for 3700x bundle with a competitor (sacrilege I know). Phoned to cancel as I really want a 5600x. Said they have 130 of them in stock waiting to be allocated and I could have one, built and dispatched in a couple of days. Price was going up about £50 due to different motherboard. I would have snapped his hand off but I was already over my original budget.

I don’t understand the 5800x at its current price, it’s so close to the 5900x, yet clearly the latter is a better proposition? And if you can buy the 5800 you aren’t that far off a 5900! I was tempted to order one of those 5600x from the other place but I’m going to wait until next year now and try and pickup a 5900x at a sensible price.

The likely reason is the 5800X has to have a full 8 core CCD. The 5900X is two 6 core CCDs, one of which is a pretty low bin.

8 core CCDs are likely to be quite a bit more harder to come across than 6 core CCDs.

No doubt, just from a consumer perspective, it seems like the least ‘value’ of all the current lineup?

You're not alone. The price of the 5800X doesn't make sense to most of us.

A lot have done what AMD will have been hoping for and gone for the 5900X instead.

A lot have instead chosen to wait. Either for the 5800X to drop in price or for a potential 5700X in future.

Some have gone for the 5800X at its current price and only they can tell you why :p :p

I was tempted, but after thinking it over - it doesn’t make sense. To be honest my 3600 has turned out to be way more capable that I expected it to be, so can’t see the point now. If I get a 5900 I will end up keeping that for 4/5 years.

Lack of review until launch day due to embargo, availability and main thing for me was my budget wouldn't quite stretch to a 5900x. 8 cores is more than enough for what I need it for though. I mean yeah its pricey but it does suit my needs.

ARRRGH!

@ScottiB @Gibbo Help!

My DPD shipping info came through today and you have shipped the item without the house number! DPD said you guys have to send an email to get them to change it. My shipping info on the site has my address and house number so I don't know what's gone off there but right now my 5900x, mobo, ram and case are all on their way to my entire street! :( I have placed a webnote. please tell me this will be sorted?

Thanks
