cant say but it is not a tradition computer shop. this place sells cloths and all sorts others. it came up in HUKD...just have a look

Well, that place that you mentioned has that deal for new accounts only, and it's a credit agreement - so not ideal ;-)
But it looks like Amazon.de has it for 184 euro at the moment, so about £170 or so?

It's £215 at that place. Maybe new accound cheaper but credit agreement.

The MSI MEG Unify I ordered last week has started going up in price so glad I didnt hang around until next week to order parts

£183.50 to be exact after delivery and exchange rate, big thanks though as still worth the saving!

I'm planning to order parts for my new build (aiming for the 5900X) but struggling to decide if I shall go for the MSI Tomahawk, MSI Meg Unify or the Gigabyte Aorus Elite.. A lot of people really seem to like the Tomahawk. I want a mobo with at least 2 m.2 spaces though (but think all of the 3 boards I'm looking at have at least 2 spots for m.2's).

I’ve got a Unify but was looking at the Tomahawk too. Extra m2 slot, slightly better audio chip and a couple of other things. Sure i listed them in this or another thread.
£184 for the Tomahawk is good though if you want to save a bit of money. I paid £265 for the Unify

Anyone slightly nervous about going red?

i got a bit of buyers remorse when you started talking about the unify...but i've got a steelseries headset with a dac (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/stee...c-amplifier-bundle-white-61454-sp-09p-st.html), so that covers me on the audio and I bought a 1TB 980 Pro for system drive and cheaper 2TB Adata drive for games, which I think should be plenty for a while...I have a 3080, so not worried about SLI.

So think I made the right call!

The Unify looks really promising. I've been thinking about going for about a £200 range, but the Unify feels like it could be worth the extra bit of money as I do listen to quite a lot of music through my computer so a good audio chip would be great. Got a pair of pretty good Edifier speakers as well. I got a 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus and am thinking about either another 1TB m.2 or a 2TB m.2 dedicated for games in my new build.

Yeh, I think you did.

I personally wouldnt get headphones with a built in DAC, just because I have monitor speaker too.

Drive wise i'll see how i get on with standard SSD as OS for a while. I looked at some videos and it doesnt show the OS or games (yet) being much faster on an NVME drive than standard SATA SSD

I have a 2080Ti and probably wont go SLI either as I have in the past and it was just hassle

Audio wise, I think the ACL1200 and 1220 will both be garbage anyway. The different between the two in acual component cost will probably be about £1.50 :D That said, maybe the ACL1220 will impress me more than I expect, we'll see. In the coming months though I have a feeling something like a Fiio K5 PRO Desktop Headphone Amplifier & DAC will be on the cards for £150.

There is the option of going PCIe > PCI adapter and using my Xonar Essence ST but that will bring it's own problems, both with the crappy adapter and even crappier Asus drivers. Yeh, I won't go that option but suppose its there.

Tomahawk for £185 would have probably swayed me. The Unify, I read about 4 reviews plus comments and everyone rated it so think it'll be a great board. Guess it is going to be the 'main board' in my system for 5-10 years+ so might aswell spend the money now

Can't wait to see (hear) how onboard sound has progressed.
I have IK multimedia iLoud micro monitors and AKG 702s with a VModa boom pro mic attached.
The downside already is only having output instead of RCA and headphone out.

Currently I have speaker output on RCA and headphones out from headphone & mic with high gain set (+12dB) I have the option of Normal Gain (0dB) High (+12 dB 64-300 ohms) and Extra high (+18dB 300-600 ohms) If i want to switch from speaker to headphone, I just change analog out in Xonar audio center. With the Unify (probably any motherboard) i'll have to manually re-connect the speakers / headphones. Not annoying at all!!

Dont think the onboard ACL1220 is going to cut it but may aswell try

edit - The Unify also uses 2 x 8 pin power to CPU, which the PCIe lanes also use. The Tomahawk does not have 2 x 8 pin
