I'm having an issue with Witcher 3 and frame gen. The game is stuttering a lot compared to my 5950x. I turned windows power plan from balanced to power saver which seems to have made it comparable to the 5950x and got rid of most the in game stutter. I will play with disabling ccd's tomorrow. Hopefully just the game, as others reported stutter fests with 5950x whilst mine was ok.

It’s the game, no matter what I do frame gen doesn’t work for me. It’s perfectly playable without it anyway but annoying as it was the first game I tried frame gen on.
Every other DLSS 3 game I’ve tried works fine.
That’s with a 7700X and 4090 so not a CCD issue in my case.

It ran fine when I first built my PC and I have a Asus B650E-E.
Thanks for that, its not something that affects everyone then!

I have a X670E and get the same message.
Oh, I'm not alone then! I see a few people online mentioning it and no solutions, I did a bug report from RM so at least it's a data point for AMD who may pass that on to ASUS, who knows! Some say it was fixed on 5000X series with a BIOS update, although why it affects some not others, I don't know!

I suspect it is because they haven’t enabled overclocking yet from the Master app. Otherwise it works as it should.

Intel hoping it can hold on until it catches up with tsmc

Intel claims it's just finished development on its new 20A 2nm process node and will build the first chips on this node next year. If it comes true, Intel will be ahead of TSMC by 2 years as TSMC itself says it will make its first 2nm chips only in 2026.

Intel is also looking to pickup business by doing fab work for other customers; it claims it currently has 40 customers asking Intel to fabricate chips for them - one of those customers is Nvidia, Jensen has just announced that Nvidia will use Intel to make its future GPUs https://wccftech.com/nvidia-will-use-intels-arizona-fabs-to-make-gpus-says-ceo/
Gaining NVIDIA as a customer on Intel's node is huge, if true.

Ahh, perhaps I'm just being silly, I've tried to find 'proof' of people using RM for overclocking on the 7950X3D but just come across people saying they can't.

@LtMatt - Didn't you say you have been using RM for overclocking?

No, I don't really use it. I prefer doing things in the BIOS.

You can report bugs with RMT using the BRT. https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/amdbrt

Thanks! I've already done the BRT direction from RM!

Any tips for doing a per core CO 0ffset map? Obviously with 16 cores, just trial/error and stress testing doesn't sound fun.
Are you using a 7950X3D? I started at all core -15 and run y cruncher (using the 1-7-0 options) for a couple of hours. If it passes I try -20 etc. Eventually 1 or more core will throw an error. Back that core off 2, eg -20 to -18 and test again. If that passes, switch to individual core and repeat the process but more on a per core basis. It takes time, but eventually you'll discover which cores can take more negative offset. Each sample will be different so copying someone else's settings won't work.

I'm currently with a couple of cores at -20, a couple at -21, a couple at -22, and the rest are at -28 - -32 and still going on those latter cores waiting for them to throw errors in y cruncher.

You'll want to run y cruncher for 8+ hours to confirm long term stability, but generally I've found if a core is going to throw an error it's normally within the first few hours.

Thats because its not a game

Usually people dont want to see tech demo benchmarks

Meh... They used to call it a scam until they realised 900 devs across 4 studios globally constantly releasing updates that are growing the game makes that argument look daft.

So they switched to calling it a tech demo, that's not entirely wrong but more wrong as time goes on, the number of "i was wrong about Star Citizen this is amazing" type videos is steadily growing, tho it still has plenty of sceptics, which is healthy IMO. $552,533,576 raised to date and 4,431,470 accounts it has a lot to live up to.

It even has two "Star" copy-cat games in development, Star Atlas which looks like its going to fail and Bethesda's Star Field which after 7 years of development sadly looks like its also in trouble, its incredibly complicated, its pushing way beyond all sorts of game dev boundaries.

I thought Star Field was looking alright. Not see any news to suggest it's in trouble, other than the release date keeps getting pushed back, but that's par for the course with Bethesda's big games.
Star Citizen does look great though, the detail is incredible. I saw some Youtuber (Olie?) get into it, it looked like a nightmare to get hold of and install though.

The wccftech link is broken btw.

They deleted the article because they misunderstood what he was saying. He was asked if Nvidia planned to use the fab in Arizona once completed and he said, "absolutely". The Wccftech assumed they were talking about an Intel fab since they are building out more fabs in Arizona, but they were talking about TSMC's new fab(s) in Arizona.

Some of the things that make Star Citizen what it is are technically extremely difficult, Bethesda keep saying they are not going to be doing this and that making it ever less a true competitor, there are unconfirmed rumblings that they just can't get it to work, hence they keep delaying it, nothing specific, just noise.

I hope they put something out, i'm looking forward to it.

Star Citizen is easy, i have to go out but when i get back i'll give you some links, you get an account, download the installer and install it, its that simple, the website is overly complicated tho, granted, i'll be back later :)
