Basically just a better binned 13900k.I always thought faster = better idc about price (within reason).
yes....and faster out the boxBasically just a better binned 13900k.
That’s good to knowSupposedly will be on sale from Feb 14
Also someone said to me earlier why I'm gaming with a i9 10940x because its a high core count CPU it wont be getting high FPS for gaming compared to a lower core count CPU, but the latest AMD CPU's also have a high core count, if not more than intel, no?
I’m wavering on the 7800x3d but would there be much point in getting one of the better motherboards with higher VRMs if you can’t overclock the CPU?
Moah powhar! 500W or bust.Intel's also releasing another CPU 'generation' on Z690/Z790 according to rumors, as Meteor Lake is delayed. Though I can't see how they can get much more out of Alderlake/Raptorlake without major architectural/process changes, which aren't happening to our knowledge.
It was the same with X570, massively overspec VRMs for CPUs that couldn't push much over 200W even with a 5950X.To be honest most of the boards have more than adequate VRM’s even at the lower end. What boards are you looking at?
Was looking at the x670e Strix-f and the cheaper Tuf one.To be honest most of the boards have more than adequate VRM’s even at the lower end. What boards are you looking at?

To hell with it……just buy them allyes....and faster out the box
but ive just seen amd have stated the 14th feb is the 7800X3D release date which isn't far away at all, so there's that to consider. plus being cooler/less power hungry, future upgrade possibility....decisions decisions!
is this for the AMD 7950 chip or the 7950X3d chip?I just ordered a x670e-f myself, waiting for it to arrive. As far as I could tell it looked like a really good board, it doesn’t compromise anywhere if you fill up the sata/Nvme drives, unlike some other boards. It looks good, and it has a really high end VRM.
A lot of other boards all seem to have compromises, or they are just way too expensive for what they should be.
is this for the AMD 7950 chip or the 7950X3d chip?
or does this specific board handle both chips?

Do you know if the vrms is the same on the x650 ITX version. Will handle both fine, it has a massive 90A VRM.
I can’t imagine any situation where any available CPU now or the future would be held back by its VRM.
To be honest, any AM5 board released will run a 7950 within its specification.
The VRM on the Strix F is so oversized you would kill your CPU before the board couldn’t handle the power…

Doesn’t seem like it was a cancelled date just that the original was a miscommunication. That could have course be a polite way of saying it was cancelled. At least it is still Feb. Gives me time to build the system ready to drop the final piece in.AMD cancelled launch on 14th, launch still in "February" though > https://videocardz.com/newz/a-heart...zen-7000x3d-is-not-launching-on-february-14th
I'm going to order a cheap R5 7600 (non X) just to get my AM5 system up and running, make sure nothing is DOA
