Will you be purchasing the 7800X3D on the 6th?

The ratio of brand new members / little to no posts who also "saw a link online" enabling them to buy well ahead of the 14:00 launch is staggering. That might explain why the poll is out.
There’s only been one (maybe 2) person that has stated they ordered far earlier than the rest of us? I’m not sure where this staggering number of people are?

Given he quoted 420 order number, and I’m 451 at 13:56:something there wasn’t hundreds of orders placed between and I’d imagine most weren’t for the processor.

OCuK had pre orders up from 12:59 according to stock informer but I have checked stock informer and OCuK at those times and there was nothing.

It's just very disappointing because us normal forum members have been waiting here for hours for information or link but there was nothing till very late around 1:57 for me and was able to check out at 1:58:01 which is a time i seen a few other members here have and with earlier order numbers then mine.

I don't want to get into detail and argue about this but I'm 100% sure OcUK were aware about the back door being open, you can't change my mind!

The fact I'm a new member anyway is just a coincidence, I also voted in the poll on 3rd April which was the reason I made the account.

I saw the posting get linked here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/12d3kzt/comment/jf65uwf/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x

In a comment below that someone mentioned they were able to wishlist it and order from there so that's what I did to order it a bit before the preorder option showed on the actual listing.

I put the CPU live (motions to do so) at 13:56 at it appeared pretty instantly which was a shock considering traffic on the site but the website updates are working well. So by 12:59 I assume you mean 13:59 or the website quoting is in a different time zone.

Otherwise I need to feed back to IT to investigate as the CPU was not live on OcUK until 13:56 unless some users have found a way to buy a hidden product.......

The only way I've seen people mention getting it early was through the wishlist feature. The listing showed up if you had the direct url which let you wishlist the CPU. Then at the wishlist page it gave you the option to preorder.

I assume the preorder option shouldn't have been available in the wishlist page but might have been missed which let a few people order early.

Definitely worth fixing as I agree it's not great that some people got it earlier than expected (me included)

The takeaway I learnt is, for future launches more research is needed to keep an eye out for early link releases. Don't rely on only one source. Do your due diligence.

On a positive note. Your in the first 500 right? So hopefully this time next week?

The link on Reddit was posted @ 1206hrs BST by the looks of it.

Is there a way for you to see what time and last 4 digits of the 1st 7800X3D order was?

I guess the problem with the url's is they are very much 'predictable', and the bug is that you can preorder from your wishlist even if the product hasn't been released/shouldn't be 'live'. Once that's fixed all future preorders should go smoother :D

Good to know it went live at 13:56, I ordered at 13:56:36 so about 30 seconds in.

I was contemplating buying it but I decided against it. I had it in my basket but didn’t go through with it.

I already have a 5800x3d and a 4090 but have not got a mobo so decided I’d wait. I have an x570 taichi.

I believe the first chipsets that supported am4 was the x370. Who has an x370? Hardly anyone which discounts the people telling me that the mobo I buy now will last right through the cycle of am5. I realise that I’d probably want to change the mobo even if I’d have bought the 7800x3d so I'm waiting to see some numbers before I decide. I might wait for x770E and the 8800x3d which might be a better upgrade for me.

Unless we’re all being trolled then several new forum members have placed successful orders for the cpu well before you made it live.

Did nobody notice orders going through for something not actually available?

Fair point. That's what I was asking earlier, if they can check time and order number for the 1st 7800X3D.

So any orders before 13:56 should be visible to OcUK and up to them what they do about it... Doesn't sound like we will have too long to wait I wouldn't get overly concerned by it tbh.
As long as they're legit orders I don't see why they wouldn't be honoured, it's not their fault the wishlist offered the product early. Sucks for everyone else who didn't realise that but what can you do about a technical hiccup.

I still blame AMD for any of these messes, if the UK got reasonable stock levels like say the US always seems to, then there wouldn't be such a big deal about pre-orders. 30 for launch is honestly pretty laughable.
