Under normal circumstances a healthy retailer margin encourages the retailer to push the products which benefits all parties. Nvidia/AMD have such hard to substitute products and high customer demand retailers kind of lose all their buying power.

G.Skill Trident NEO 6000Mhz CL30 (F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR) is also what I went for, seemed to be the 'best' regarded speed before you run into issues or running the clocks lower due to memory controller running at half rate.

Motherboard was meant to be here today but apparently Royal Mail had 'access issues' with the address, more like they just ran out of staff/time :D

Oh well, CPU hasn't shipped yet so not as if it matters. The only thing I hope for is that the EXPO profiles are actually stable, reading around it can be hit and miss it seems based on the motherboard, my memory isn't on the QVL for the mobo (Asus TUF X670E Wifi Plus), but hopefully it'll just work...

I saw that a new bios was released to support the 7000X3D CPU's on Friday.

Has the 7800x3d orders thread been deleted? Was there a reason given? If so I guess this thread can be used to see if anybody got a "dispatched" email yet?

Corsair Vengeance RGB EXPO 32GB (2X16GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C30 6000MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black (CMH32GX5M2B6000Z30)
Quantity: 1

Asus ROG Strix X670E-F Gaming WIFI (Socket AM5) DDR5 ATX Motherboard

Was tempted to go for the hero but really struggled to justify it other than it looking nicer. Very proud of myself.

I was really impressed with the price of the team group c30. Cheapest c30 memory I could find anywhere.

My only concern is I decided later to bite gbe bullet and upgrade so I don’t have a 7800x3d which I need for my build.

I’m also a bit worried about controlling the RGB of the team group as I’ve had nightmares with RGB and prefer not needing anything running to control the RGB. I turn off iCue as use hardware colours for example on my fans.

Even though the following test was done using the 7800x3d, it's a mobo issue not CPU

The 7800x3d runs 300-400mhz lower clock speed when used on an A620 motherboard. That's because the A620 motherboards restrict all Zen4 CPUs to 65w

Early days for me playing with eclock - I have the none 3D cores up to 5.75 and the 3D cores up to 5.25. On light loads I'll add.

Thank you for that. Doesn't look like it, but not the end of the world :)

My 7600x boosts to 5.4ghz where AMD usually adversities 5.3 boost, so it made me wonder.

This guy tried every possible way to overclock X3D chip (7950X3D) including external clock (ECLK) and the uplift in games was negligible so you won’t miss much.
By the way I ordered the same board as you with my 7800X3D. :)

Yes it's not a huge benefit, this was his 7800X3D:

I'm sure he doesn't use a 4090 and he uses high settings too i think because on my 7700x 4090 just +200mhz on CSGO benchmark nets around 2-3% fps
You are right he used 2080ti.
So now that made me think whether I should change my order to Crosshair Hero as not only the looks of this board are awesome especially the display but it also includes 60W of front panel usb c power delivery which I would love to have.
Usb 4 is just a cherry on to at this point lol.
The price tho is straight up stupid for a motherboard so go on guys convince me that I need it.
I know I can afford it and all have to do is sell one of my kidneys, half of my liver and eat nothing but bread and butter for the next 2 years.
