like I said don't get overly worked up over it, yes I agree with the sentiment and logic but its out of our hands. Either way you'll have the parts soon enough by the sounds of it, this isn't a replay of the Nvidia 3080 LULfest imho stock is coming which probably means its already shipped and on its way via freight containers

IF 470 have actually shipped and are on their way in stock containers, then that is completely OK... IF the 470 was asked for by OCUK and they only end up shipping 50 or something, that would be a problem, would be really good if Gibbo could confirm if we are definitely getting 470 this month, for example have they actually shipped and will definitely be received, or is this the amount he asked for but has not been confirmed as shipped? Would really appreciate some more concrete info and it would make up for the horrible experience I had with the 3080!

Just a realised...I ordered the 7800X3D along with a new waterblock. What happens if the waterblock is not in stock when the 7800X3D is available for shipping? Do I go the end of the queue and have to wait until both items are available at the same time? Or maybe I have the option to ask to ship the items as they become available paying an extra fee?
I’m in the same situation, any staff can answer?

AMD are the worse company for getting shipping forecast, dates and quantities from, should be simple but near impossible.
I ordered 1000 back in January, over two different distributors, so 500 each.
I also ordered an additional 1100 units this week spread across another two distributors.

When I ask AMD, they say volume is good, no further details given.
When I speak to the distributors who get details from AMD they state that 470 should be fulfilled next week.

Now remember these are estimated forecast and ETA's the reality is we may get stock next week, we may not, it could be 5 units or 500 units, hence why I put on the website in the descriptions expect orders fulfilled by mid/end April, any new orders as per the description are now May onwards, with AMD it is a case of how long is a piece of string.

I did my job the best in the world, first reseller in the world to place a PO, literally done as Lisa was announcing product at CES. :)
Over to AMD now, I am hopeful the stock will be here this month but I've seen them say stock has shipped and then the ETA keeps slipping, so I have no idea who they ship goods with and why it seemingly takes so long......

Thanks for the reply anyway, more than you would get from most retailers. Sounds from what you say that 470 HAVE actually been shipped, but the shipping keeps getting delayed, hopefully that is the case. I ordered at 2.01:30 seconds, I think I should really be around 100 in the queue, bit annoying it opened early as normally it is bang on the hour and I was sat there ready for hours I just did not check until 2pm. But I doubt THAT many people got an order in between 1.56 and 2.01, probably around 100 going from the order numbers. Just really need to receive one I have every other part!

Let's ask. @Gibbo for those who ordered the 7800X3D and other items at the same time. What happens if, when the 7800X3D is ready for shipping, any of those items are out of stock? If we wait for all the items to be available, we risk having to wait months for the 7800X3D (even if we are in the first batch of orders). Can we get the 7800X3D shipped even if the other items are missing (or ask to ship each item as soon as it's available, even if it requires additional shipping fees)?

Last time i ordered multiple items and one was out of stock they waited about a week to see if it came back in stock, then emailed me asking wether i wanted to wait untill everything was in stock to ship, or to contact them and split the order up so i could recieve whatever was ready now

Thanks for sharing your experience. I spoke with support and they said I can split the order to be shipped when available individually.

Our system does not part ship unless customer request it, so if something is out of stock the order will be held up.
I shall speak to relevant parties within OcUK and request once CPUs land, that if any orders have out of stock items they are automatically back ordered, the problem is the additional shipping charge which in most circumstances we would cover as I like to think we are nice.

Problem is we are at MSRP which gives us around 7% margin, essentially £20, once we take our over heads out the equation were probably making £4 a CPU as such you can understand we can't just back order items and not charge the shipping, we would be negative unless other items on the order are decent profit.

This is issue with MSRPs in general, the manufacturer takes zero regard for shipping cost, company overheads and any potential swing in exchange rates to buffer, £439 is set at 1.24 by the way.
I've taken a gamble with the MSRP, because if the rate drops to say 1.22 when the stock lands at distributor we will lose money, so it is a gamble and though people claim scalping when above MSRP which most OcUK competitors are as I see one larger reseller charging £469 and some higher, yes some take the mick but if manufacturers keeping expecting resellers to make single digit margins it does not make life easy especially on products on pre-order purchased in USD.
