I'm also building an ITX system and keep seeing recommendations for G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30. It's available for £151 at the moment if you shop around.

As for a lot of people, it's been a real ball ache trying to get some of this. Did find one on Friday, but when the stock didn't reduce to zero after purchasing, I was a bit suss. Rang up today and turns out they didn't have any. Thankfully, I found some more tonight.

Don't get why this is the holy grail of memory. I know it's reported as 'solid' concerning the boot issues, but are these problems exclusive to 3D builds? Can't be the only reliable module out there.

I have the same motherboard and noticed when playing halo infinite I was getting disconnected at odd times and usually just as I was about to win on a ranked game :(

Have you managed to fix the issue? I’m thinking about getting a separate Ethernet plug in card although it’s ridiculous to have to do that!
Pretty sure someone mentioned disabling power saving or sleep in bios for the network or something similar a few pages back.

Any idea if the team group cl30 memory works ok against the rog strix mobo and 7800x3d?

The order has shipped today and just flashed the bios. Just wondering if I should spend a bit of time reinstalling Windows or not.

Upgraded my nephew's PC last week from i7 6700 to r5 5600 with the same boot drive without any issue at all but I don't care that much as it is not my PC. :p For my own PC just not very sure.:D

I’d re-install.

Anyone who doesn’t reinstall their os after installing a X3D deserves a hard slap round the face and a month suspension from the forums.

Have been second guessing myself on a new DDR5 build. Obviously the 7800x3D is the hot ticket with preorders taking most or all of the restock allocation (and could be a reoccurring theme). But what is the value for money like overall (with decent ram, decent motherboard) your looking at £850 for the 7 7800x3d vs £630 for the 5 7600 £650-700 for the I5 13600, £730 for the 7 7700x. £750-£770 for i7-13700

Is the 30% or 15-20% increase (respectably) worth it when your looking at the high to mid range (the prices make me wince when calling it mid range). For example when your pairing with a AMD Radeon 6800xt/6900xt/6950xt or a NVIDIA 4700/4700ti

While it is a broader question, my preferred genre:strategy has generally utilised x3d well (apart from Total Warhammer 3) not sure how resolution plays a part (Ultrawide 1440p)

Morning quite a few of us should be receiving our 7800x3d's today I'd be interested to hear what motherboards you're all going for? as that is the only part I'm currently still undecided on

I went with some overkill for what I am calling my '10-year-build' :) Going leading / bleeding edge in hopes of having this PC last 8 to 10 years (ha! but will see)

Asus ROG Strix X670E-A
RTX 4090 FE
MSI 1000W PCIe 5.0 PSU
Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000 C30 (2x 16GB)

I'm going for a fat build as I use my PC for a tonne of work related stuff:
7950x3D (Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black cooler)
ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS
Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 RGB EXPO 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MT/s DDR5 CL36

Here's hoping I get news on the CPU shipment soon.

Checked this morning before I came to work and my order was still marked as 'Ordered'. This might have been asked before but what happens if something else in the same order is now out of stock? At the time it was just the 7950x3d we were waiting for. Now OC are waiting for the AIO I ordered to be re-stocked. I'm hoping that as they took full payment for the order that the other items would have been reserved somehow.

Anyone any info?

I'm going for the Gigabyte Aorus master, i did fancy one of the AS Rock boards but none of them have any temp sensor headers so that rules that one out and some of the Asus boards seem to have ethernet adapter problems.
