I can safely say that is something I've never tried to disable. What is the reason for doing so?
I see online that people advise to disable or remove this. It has not caused me a problem so thought to ask about this. If it’s no problem I will leave it of course.

What's the normal for 7800X3D boost clocks, only had the system up and running a week now, no real time to fiddle with it yet etc only a few minor things enabled EXPO Tweaked, made sure soc voltage was correct and ram timings ram is 6000 cl30, installed ryzen master but haven't used it yet running without pbo at present

Anyway, I'm seeing 4 cores boosting quite high ranging from 5150 to 5430 something, it's fairly cool with an arctic 2 360 cooling it at these speeds max temp was 66.7

Just wondered If this is expected behaviour before I start tinkering etc

Check again, the 7800X3D is locked to 5050mhz maximum*

and no way is a maxed out 7800X3D only hitting 67 degrees, 80 degrees on an Artic 360 is more like it ( i have one ), unless Gt. Yarmouth is suddenly in an Ice Age.

( * Edit - yes i know its possible to use an external clk generator to bypass the lock )

cinebench r23 multicore will likely get your cpu up and above 80c if you wanna see lol

Had a look into it this morning, hwmonitor is the suspect, incorrect reporting, will get aida64 setup later.
I had this. Cant remember which one is which but I think it was HWmonitor (more basic one) was telling me my 7800x3d was hitting highs of 5.7ghz....switched to the more in-depth monitor program (HWinfo) and it doesn't give me crazy numbers

Edit - was actually 7ghz ...

for those on asus (maybe other mb's?) what is your SP rating of the cpu in bios? Mine says 91, does it necessarily mean it will overclock or generally perform better the higher it is?

Noticed this myself while stress testing. Nothing heats it up like Cinebench - not Prime95, not Linpack. CB is the only thing that hits thermal throttle.

Cheers, here is a vid of my CPUs behaviour even in just the menus. Cinebench is max 80c in a 26c room. It's like it's using AVX or something, weird.

Well this is the only game that maxes out my fan and it's hardly using the CPU. So it's either the game or something OS/bios related that only messes with GTA 5.

I think I saw mine spike up there briefly but didn't last long and only on the first launch so probably had brief high power use. Mine is the Rockstar store version.
