I’m looking forward to playing cyberpunk in VR with a new 7x3D cpu so enjoying these cyberpunk benchmarks. Hopefully there will be a noticeable increase to performance

Its playing fine on zen 4 for the most part, excluding a few very heavy problematic areas. So the 3d will probably be even better on those.

I might be wrong but I get the impression the game runs better on high end Intel rather than high end AMD?

Much better yes, but still zen 4 does okayish.

Tbf I don't see the point of buying zen 4 for gaming, the 12900k is still a beast - and then 13700k / 13900k are even faster than that - zen 4 doesn't. I think the zen 4 3d will close the gap to alderlake, but RPL will still be ahead of that.

I'd be very surprised if the x3d ain't overall faster on average over a number of games and I don't mean just the few out liners

The games that love cache it should be well ahead with lows as well

Will be also interesting to see power consumption while gaming especially looking how the 5800x3d is

The averages will depend on games being tested. Sure there are games that even the zen 3 3d is uber fast, the thing is, half of those games have insanely high framerate. Like SOTR, I expect the zen 4 3d to make fun of the 13900k, but this game already hits 400 fps. Does it matter? Im more interested in an average at games that struggle to hit over 100fps, not in valorant and csgo and stuff like that. PurePC is the only reviewer that actually tests the heaviest - most cpu bound areas of games - he still doesn't use RT sadly but his testing is still the closest one to being perfect.

Techpowerup always has Intel on top in games, and I think they are clueless, hwunboxed gets very weird results that don't make sense , the 2 german sites are fine but they are using jedec ram which is kinda irrelevant.

This video shows the location for Tom's Diner > https://youtu.be/Mq-IbsWKvvQ?t=9
4K DLSS Quality results in GPU bottleneck with FPS in the 40s there on a 4080 so I expect the 7900XTX will be 100% GPU limited with those settings.
If I drop to DLSS Ultra perf can see my 5800X3D is consistently around 80% usage and holding back the GPU with FPS dropping to the low 50s in places

Here's Spiderman with RT for comparison. Please take careful note of the settings and copy them exactly. Then walk down 5th avenue and 59th street towards, 55th street as per the video.

Your results are with ddr4? Even on cyberpunk? Good, cause i thought the difference between intel and amd was because of the memory bandwidth difference. So that is not the case

Yes. Settings:

So after digging a little bit over reviews, seems that zen 4 does great in lighter games when framerates hit 200+++. Ald and rpl are beasts in heavier games or heavier areas where framerates drop to 100 or below.

The 3d is always a question mark, does great in some heavy games (msfs), absolutely horrible on some others like cyberpunk. RT also looks like a huge cpu hog that burdens down amd cpus a ton.

Here is my attempt at trying to copy this, don't have my 4090 so had to use FSR but every other setting is the same.

My map is also completely blank, so I used that square blob in the water as a rough landmark to get near the area you picked.
Video is still converting but should be ready soon.

You can use the street street names intersections to see the direction. You want to be going down 5th avenue, starting from 59th street. Yeah your map is quite empty. Also night time is more rough due to the lights sources, etc. It's an annoying one to bench.

Turn left here and that's the starting point. And I guess, let him sit there until night and npc's build up.

Damn I was so close the first time.

Okay here's the correct street. I stood around and waited for a line of traffic to build up before moving.

@Poneros These are much better (CPU) results than those links you share.

Only getting FPS n the 70s there (during the day!) on the 5800X3D :p
Game is using 86% of my 7950X with SMT off. SMT on hurts performance, probably why this game needs to be fixed by the developers as I mentioned before. Disable SMT and performance flies up. :)

Will rerun this when I get my 7950X3D to see if there is any improvement.

Is there any difference between doing it in the day and night? (as originally done)
