I’m sticking to my original thought when they released the pricing. If AMD knew they were going to S..t all over Intel, they would be charging more.
 
I was frankly quite surprised by the delay to the 7800x3d.. Why would they push the launch of that so far out?

Or is this simply a case of trying to sell as many of the top end products as they can before the mainstream chip comes out? A bit like Nvidia releasing the 90 series cards each generation first?

Because that’s the one that most people would buy. Holding that back will make some not so patient of us jump on a more expensive option.

Don't think i agree. Think with AM5 sales not being as good as hoped that they have priced thiese SKU's aggresively to boost uptake
 
No I meant 5600 5800 5900 5950 were very similar gaming. Obviously the 3d was better. So will amd manage to get much between the 7800 3d 7900 3d and 7950 3d
Ah okay, well yeah hopefully even if only 10% will be pretty solid if the games you play benefit I expect the 7800x3D and 7900x3D will be similar gaming and the 7950x3D maybe 5% more than those two purely as it same core as 7800x3D but 700mhz faster and more cores by 2 than 7900x3D and 200mhz more.

Nope can't see being much difference in gaming few percent? but some want more cores for productivity work

I saw earlier that someone said the 7900X3D will only have the Cache on 6 of the cores? How does that work and why would they do that?
Is the same true of the 7950X3D? How many of its cores will benefit?

Do we have any estimates on what temperatures will be like? I've not got it set up yet but I'm already worrying that my 13700K will run too hot for my liking and I'm wondering about switching to another 7000 series setup, this time going for an X3D chip. But that seems pointless if they run hot also.

I think both are likely to have only one CCD with 3D cache for cost reasons. Will boost gaming workloads which are cache sensitive without incurring the cost of cache for all the cores which won't benefit highly multithreaded applications as much.

It’s the same X3D chiplet (with a bigger cache) that the 7950X3D uses so they are going to prioritise that while the demand is there.

easy to guess that the 7800x3d is likely gonna be the best seller from that group will be very surprised if see much difference in gaming , 7950x3d cached cores probably be slightly clocked higher the boost clocks they showed are for the none cached ccd

It is confirmed only one CCD is x3D, the second CCD is non-x3D so since the 7900x3D is 12 core it is 6+6.

The 7950x3D is 16core so it will.be a 8+8 setup with 8core x3D and 8core. The chip for the 7800x3D and the chip to make the 7950x3D will be same. Just one is more leaky and bins higher to get the higher Mhz so goes in the 7950x3D compared to the 7800x3D.
 
Yeah 7000X3D going to top of that HD table for sure ... problem is 7600X can be had for less than 250 quid now and the margins tiny at 1440p and 4K surely?
We'll have to wait and see. Between 5800x and 5800x3d it can be a large gap, game (and GPU) dependent.
