RYZEN DDR4 MEMORY, WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

I'm going to be a new overclocker when I get round to buying my new pc.

I was looking at the CL14 G.Skill at 3200 do you think there will be much wiggle room? You managed to shave of 400,mhz to get to CL13 just wondering if I could get there with the CL14 @3200

With GSkill RGB dimms this should definitely be possible. If you are happy with 3200 CL14, may as well buy the actual 3200 sticks. Only buy higher if you intend to up the frequency at a later date, as i do. I'll be looking to run either 3400 or 3600 when time allows.

I can't find the original article, but apparently there is a microcode update coming in the next month or so for Motherboard vendors that will allow support for over 3200mhz ram without the need for bclck overclocking.

Taichi and CH6 over 3000mhz easy.... 113+ BLK Asrock, Around 125 ASUS.

Also working fine on these two boards.

Awaiting Gigabyte Gaming 7 to try...

To be honest MSI is incorrect because recent Bios have made issues for Hynix it seems with many manufacturers including MSI even though these are on the QVL list.

Thanks, I thought something was up. Just a week ago I could boot at 2933 now I'm down at 2400. I need to get me a decent board.....

EDIT:- saw your later post. Do you have the cpu oc'd and what mobo?
Haven't bothered clocking the CPU yet, it's a 1700X and I have seen every core hit 3.9GHz in HWMonitor (not at same time obv) which is good enough for me, nothing I use hammers all 8 cores at 100% at once anyway. The mobo is a Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5, the RAM is 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz set at 2400 and the board is running the F5c beta BIOS (which will be the F5d beta by tonight).
