S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Lost Alpha

No probs. On the reloading, have you put ammo on your belt? When you open your inventory theres slots at the top which represent your ammo pouches or something, you need to put a few boxes in those slots and in should then work for you.

Has anyone noticed any improvement in the enemy AI? Still seems a bit suspect to me,
just gone through the miltary check point at the railway bridge.

I snuck round and took out the sniper first, then picked off the military guys with his rifle from up on the bank.
They didn't seem to react even when I'd blown away a guy standing next to him.

Silly me. You can tell I'm rusty, can't you? :D

Regarding the AI, I've only got up to the factory, but so far so good. I'll let you know when I reach the army check point.

I decided to try the friendly approach as indicated by the message you get as you near the bridge. They told me to stop or they would open fire. Atm they're pointing their guns at me.

Ok, so as I went up to one of them they opened fire, and I was instantly killed. For my second go, I took a shot at one, and they reacted accordingly (aggressively). Several shots have been fired back, and I could hear what sounded like a grenade explosion.

Nah, it's (AI) doing what it used to now. Nothing.

I wonder if that's just that outpost or something? Funny thing you mention AI, Auldred, because in the patch notes, I remember making a mental note that there didn't seem to be much mentioned about AI in the release.

Edit : I noticed that if you attack them from the side, say up on the banks to either side, they don't seem to do anything. However, when you appear in their line of sight, they respond as expected. So, it seems to sort of work. Strange.

Yeh it seems quite hit and miss to me, the factory mission was fine for me as well like you said, although it does have friendly npc's helping you out, maybe that effects the enemy AI?

Just did the save Fox mission, and talked to the main Sin guy then decided to blow him and his cronies away :p the two guys in the room with Fox AI wise were good, but the other two that are in the porch didn't act on me firing at all?!

At a guess it seems to me like it might be something to with triggering the AI on proximity to human player possibly?

I just rescued Fox the heavy handed way too, and I experienced the same turn of events. The guy just outside the room where Fox was held also reacted like the first two enemies did, but yeah, the other two that were sitting down did nothing.

Issues I've noticed so far :

* Weather doesn't change from overcast / cloudy, though I don't mind that too much since it boosts performance a lot.

* Maybe it's me, but I don't get the completed quest graphic / sound when killing the zombies. Perhaps there's some I've missed...

Funnily enough, the AI seems ok atm. We'll see.

Yeh the AI has been for me as well after them couple of incidents.

On the weather, I think it was sunny when I started but it has been overcast now for a while it changed after I slept. Have to see how it goes, be a shame if it's stuck, because the lighting in this spectacular :)

Missed the deadline on the zombie mission, got sidetracked nosing around all the new stuff! :D

Always the same with STALKER. A new patch comes out, so you restart your game. You get to a similar place in the game, then the next arrives. Really tempted to keep going as I'm a good way through I reckon:

just been to rostok factory secret bunker to get the PDA for Veles and kill all the blood suckers.

I downloaded this a few weeks ago and have enjoyed it so far. However the maps are two big with too much walking about. I know they've made the maps bigger for the cars but there fairly rare and often can't be used easily due roads being blocked. Overall would have felt they'd been better leaving the cars out and making all the maps 20% smaller.

I know what where your coming from with that, personally I don't mind the walking as I enjoy the atmosphere of the zone. I would like to to see more random bandit or military patrols along the way to spice the journey up a bit though.

Could you elaborate a little more? :)

Does the game function ok?

It's working okay now. Performance improved a lot when I turned grass shadows off. (+20 frames) :)

The only issue I'm seeing now is the sky disappears every now and again. (i.e. turns plain white, and then a second later it'll be blue with clouds)

And good god. For the life of me I could not figure out how to add ammo to my guns. Turns out all you have to do is double click on the ammo in inventory.
