S2000 owners thread. 9,000rpm of goodness in here.

Clutch click is likely that the piston to pedal linkage needs adjusting. Mine was way out when I got it. You need to be either a contortionist or remove the drivers seat to get to it. There is a lock nut and then you can turn the linkage to take up the play.
With regard to the plates either side of the instruments, mine were scratched a little too. I never found anything that matched the radio door but in the end I bought some carbon fibre overlays that I stuck on. They look OK.

The red interior is so much nicer than my boring black I have. Really lifts it and makes it feel less claustrophobic.

Thanks for the tip, will look into it. Seems to be doing it more now.

Yours is looking great ^ mines out in the rain today :( really need to get rid of the Mazda!

Spoke to one of our customers over the road, they know their stuff and are going to give the car a once over and do a service for me. I've asked to do all fluids etc, any other key things to get them to check?

They are currently building 3 race engines for a Honda of some sort

Also, are Red badges tacky?

Kind of want one for the steering wheel as it would go well with the other red bits..

But also think they look nice on the outside, but feel that's going too far

Less than ideal weather for the new car :(

Will be a good leak test though.. :D

Check the boot. They love to leak from the vent behind the bumper, and also from where the factory radio aerial mounts. Mine drips from there and I need to sort it before winter.

I use a Sony DSX-GS80. The main reason for this is that it's a 4x100W amp rather than the usual 4x50W. This gives it tons of headroom for driving speakers.

The full setup is as follows:

Sony DSX-GS80 headunit
Carpuride W901 Pro CarPlay display
InCarTec adaptor for the dash controls
Focal Auditor 6.5" front components
Focal Auditor 5.25" rear 2-ways
JBL GTO150 amp
JL 0W10V3 sub in a custom box in the tool well

It sounds great without being stupidly expensive and has all the features I want.

Digging this back up, had a look at the head unit and sounds good to me.

So if I went for that, I just need a s2000 wiring harness and the incartec adapter for the dash controls?

I googled the headunit and s2000 and found a thread about people suggesting it could require a connection directly to the battery? I imagine not?

If you are really pushing it then yes, it could. You can bridge the rear connections for a subwoofer and it's that configuration that is likely to need additional power.
I'm running off the standard harness (with the InCarTech and ISO adaptor) and it's fine. My sub is driven off a separate amp.

Cool id certainly not be pushing it.

Wonder if the headunit is a bit overkill for my needs. Just want Bluetooth for audio playback and better sound over the standard unit.

If you're not replacing the speakers then I'd get something else. You can get cheaper units with things like a DAB tuner built in if you just want something that's an upgrade.

Thanks for the tip.

I'd be up for changing out the door speakers if it's worth it? But probably wouldn't go as far as the amp/sub route.

Any recommendations?

Anything by Focal. I love their drivers.
I have Focal Auditer 6.5" components in the front. They are at the bottom end of Focal's range but the S2000 isn't exactly known for its acoustic qualities so going mad with expensive components is just pointless IMO.
You will need some adaptors for the mids. The tweeters will screw in to where the stock ones go.
