Who's getting it first?

Well if he's offering to resign it doesn't matter where they are in the table. I think he's gone now no matter what. Just a matter of timing. You won't start 2016 season with him in charge.

There might be a peformance related clause which allows them to sack him without compensation, didn't Moyes only get sacked when it was mathematically impossible to make the top four?

Do we need to be that thrifty?! That could take a while, we could be in a right state by then.

Hopefully LvG will insist on going now, if not then things are going to get worse.

I agree he's effectively gone, but it seems sensible to act now rather than waiting.

Probably not but I'm just going by what happened with Moyes, maybe they're still banking on some miraculous turnaround to spare them the effort of having to replace him.

That could be exactly what Woodward is doing. But really nobody knows for sure, with Moyes he didn't even consult the other directors.

Excuse the Daily Fail link

Normally I wouldn't post it, but the headline and bullet points sound pretty bang on for how crap our board are at dealing with the situation, so I'm going to guess this is spot on

If it was Ian Ladyman I'd be inclined to believe it, but it's some random guy so most likely all made up.

They're never going to decide nothing will definitely happen until the summer, what if we lose every game!

There's stories saying he won't survive today, and then stuff like the link I posted saying he'll be given until the end of the season.

I hope he's gone sooner rather than later, but this will definitely affect our transfer plans for this window (if we had any), who on earth would want to sign for us with all this going on?

Sack LVG off, get a manager in asap and bolster before January is done. Even as a non-united fan, I don't think I could bear another 4 months of that passive playstyle :p

absoloute madness from the united board not sacking him already

he can't turn it around and you'd get a more positive result from bringing someone in until the end of the season. i'd even go as far to say that you could bring rodgers in until the summer, work him with giggs and you'd be more likely to get top 4 than under lvg

your not far off top 4 though?

I'd put good money on Man Utd making the Champions League, even with LvG in charge. Spurs aren't going to give up their rightful home of 5th place so easily. :p

The fact we're still 5th really is astonishing, and shows how poor the league has been this season.

No doubt it's more entertaining this way tho :)

Not knowing before the match that ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc, are 90% likely to win.

In previous years the only truly unpredictable games were when the top 4 played each other (and even then they could often be dire and goalless).

Now that many teams seem to have forgotten how to defend (or in ManU's case shoot), it's a lot less predictable :p

I mean, City look likely to concede every time the ball is in their own half. Arsenal can be very good or just not turn up at all. Liverpool have some truly entertaining keepers... Chelsea in a complete melt-down.

It's brilliant!
