Jesus wept. Dat sense of entitlement :o:o:o.

Lol, thats not entitlement, thats just what you should be aiming for if you have the largest transfer spending and a top manager in the job for 3 years. It would be entitlement if we thought we should win it just because we have done so many times over the years.

As it stands we have a joke of a manager and have spent poorly. We are probably overachieving this season as well simply because of the competition being so unreliable and DDG saving our bacon. We deserve to be where Chelsea are realistically.

Don't be ridiculous. All things considered it seems a fair expectation.

I'm pretty sure by spending potentially hundreds of millions, the club management would expect to win the league as well.

Your post is baffling (and pretty typical).

This isn't the SPL. I don't think any PL side can go into a season with the expectation or target to definitely win the league. The expectation should be that you're there or there abouts every season and that you win the league at least every other season or 3rd season.

That's what I meant if you look at my post on the whole. LvG had a target to win the league in one of the three seasons. The expectation was that he could deliver that, and he's not even close.

It's a perfectly fair expectation if you spend enough money and have a good structure that you will at some point win the league, like Man City, and Chelsea before them.

The point is that we're not even thereabouts, we're miles off. Worse than the Moyes season.

Youre going to have to live with the fact that youre never going to be as dominant as you were. A PL title every 3/4/5 years maybe. I said a while back that it's going to be years before you regain any sort of style that you once had, the bubble that burst was bigger than we've ever seen before in the PL. How long was Fergie manager for? Like over 20 years or something. It's so hard to get back to anything like that within a few years. Man U aren't the same team they were 10 years ago and every club knows that, that fear factor has gone.

football isn't the same as it was
ferguson got pretty fortunate. united having the financial clout to which no other club really could compete with and having the class of 92
things have changed and the tv revenue will change it again

We really didn't spend that much more during Fergusons time compared to other teams at the time. He just got the best out of his players and the main reason we won so much is because we were so consistent. We would win a lot of games when we played poorly and weren't the best team.

That's perfectly fine, but we should be challenging every season. That's the minimum. And it is on that front where LvG has failed spectacularly, we're going backwards (it's been a little better of late, but the damage is done).

So apparently United shares have dropped 20% since November. Im sure some of that is just the markets but a large part of that will be how **** we are on the pitch and the effect it will have on our finances directly and indirectly. What will it take for Woodward and co. to sort this out I wonder.

Doubt it, I work for a company that pays a 40% dividend and makes record profits each year, over 600m profit and has lost over 20% due to the market. I very much doubt a large amount of that drop is down to the football.

Did it lose 20% under moyes with a lack of CL football?

Why hasn't this so-called great structured club acted then?

Probably because it's not so greatly structured at all especially when it comes to non-financial stuff.

We lost quite a lot of value due to the lack of faith in his management and the effect it had on our potential earnings from competitions. Considering the commercial deals that we seem to be signing the whole time we should be in a very good position. Long term declines in the quality of our football and a lack of silverware will effect the value of the brand and its ability to attract top sponsors.

It sounds like we're in the process of acting, but if Mourinho doesn't want the job until the summer, we might be best waiting and hoping LvG can get us top 4, doubtful as it is.
