Hopefully this kicks the players into some sort of form, there are some good players there but they obviously threw the towel in for Mclaren.

Maybe with a manager walking in with much more pedigree the players might start performing who knows.

Still not expecting much from Leicester but our derby with Sunderland next week is 100% a must win game, for survival more than anything else.

I am surprised Rafa has come but very optimistic considering he has got his way it seems with staff etc. (and more than likely a get out clause)

Loved our games in the 90's and always had a soft spot for Newcastle. If it helps, I like Sunderland and Middlesbrough as well :)

No it doesn't help, the moment is gone :(:p

I do agree the 90's games were amazing though, just wish we had won them as that would have probably seen us through to a title! :(

Thing is most fans (the sensible ones) just want a team that gives a **** and plays as well as they can do. Sadly under Cashley we haven't had that which is why you seem to see a lot of ******* about by the fans as they are so fed up of the situation now.

I disagree Danny. There is no sense of entitlement. Most Toon fans couldn't give a monkey's chuff about silverware or the league title. They just want to watch decent football from a team that gives its all.

This x a million.

I don't think any sane Newcastle fan thinks we deserve to be fighting for the title just because we did 20-odd years ago.

However, we would like to see players that give a **** when they don the black and white stripes.

I remember back when Newcastle thumped a team (I think Spurs) 7-1.
A week later Keegan resigned.
It was big news at the time.

I give it 9 months before those glorious fans are sending a 'strongly' worded letter about something. Obviously not the ones here but I think Newcastle fans about about the most annoying in the league. That one spell with Keegan and you seem to have this sense of entitlement. I could maybe understand it if you had ever won a ****ing thing.

It will end in tears.

What an absolute load of utter rubbish.

I guess someone has a real problem with Newcastle fans

Great reply, would read again to such a well put load of reasoning 10/10

Fairly ironic considering he's crying about Martinez every single week. Sense of entitlement, FFS. Imagine being that out of touch.

The only manager since Colin Harvey I have complained about while putting up with a club with zero money. Compared to listening to constant hate on whoever manages (that isn't keegan) and the constant bleating about a chairman who hasn't bankrupted you. For the record I don't go at our chairman despite others doing it. I am frankly grateful that despite not putting much or any of his own money in, he's not had us go to the wall.

Every week? I'd like to see proof of that, I'm not that consistent a poster in here. Anyway that's one manager from 10 I've moaned about, compared to you lot having 1 in 10 you haven't cried about.

I guess someone has a real problem with Newcastle fans

Some yes, I think a vast majority are so thick they can't see why your chairman isn't bankrupting himself and the club so they can chase something they cannot afford. Again I didn't say the ones that post here, but I think the vast majority are about the thickest in the league and will desert like they did last time when you go down.

If you are going to post ******** at least post factual ********

Our season in the championship we still had 3rd highest average attendance in England, so hardly a sign of desertion.

You've been watching too much sports news where they find the thickest **** to interview regardless of the team. If we are using sports news as a basis all evertonians are thick scouse morons. #stu****terostypes.

Edit? Eh stupidstereotype is swearing?

Ah Newcastle. Best fans in England/Europe/World/Universe according to whichever news organisation/journalist is discussing them at any given time.

Will always remember the 606 when Newcastle were on the brink of relegation and a Newcastle fan's argument on 606 was that they are too 'big' of a club to be relegated, and that a 'smaller' club should be relegated in their stead.

I've got Newcastle fans (season ticket holders/players) in the family, while they are perfectly level headed, there is an awful lot of 'stupid' Newcastle fans presented via the media and it is awfully easy to think that they are all that daft and entitled.

I totally get where DannyJo22 is coming from though.

Ashley is a terrible (person) owner, the club is stagnent, the players are not good enough. The entire club (and they are far from the only club) need a complete overhaul. Bringing Rafa in is exceptional, he is a good manager.
