Last games at Goodison though, would have been an absolute bear pit there if he was still in charge Sunday.

This has been done to calm the fans down rather than with results on their mind.

Pardew to Everton? He's done a superb job at Palace in the second half of the season and I'm sure he'll want to capitalize on his good form by taking another huge job.

I heard he was overheard talking to Ashley about unfinished business at Newcastle.

Bizarre timing - while its theoreticallly possible for them to drop a few places and therefore lose some EPL cash Norwich havent got anything to fight for and those around them have got just as tough matches if not tougher (liverpool and Man Utd for two of them), can anyone really make any difference to the squad's mentality in the next 3 days anyway?

Dead man walking for months, but between today and Monday would make zilch difference
.

It's not bizarre at all, they wanted him out before the last home game and club awards on thurdays where protests were due to happen. It makes no difference to results and another loss really makes no odds. Get rid of him. After probably having to shell out 6-10m to rid ourselves of the useless **** a few quid lost in PL earnings is neither here nor there.

Besides we have a better chance of winning without him. Two tragic seasons defending like my sons under 7's, having him there clearly makes no odds. No doubt he will go onto another job with the rest of these failed managers for a few million per year. Probably Leeds next manager if he can't find a premiership club stupid enough.

Not surprised he's gone. His teams are really too easy to beat. It's no use being able to pass the ball well if you can't back it up solidity. His teams remind me of a fella i went to school with, ball juggling skills galore but was actually **** at football, couldn't get anywhere near the 1st eleven..

The previous home game was only 5 days ago , so I very much doubt any suporters expected him to go before the end of the season because of the pointless nature of it - whether its home or not
Still very "meh", it was just a (short) matter of time anyway

A few Italian journalists are now saying the Mourinho to United deal is done, to be announced very soon.

Could well be a load of rubbish, but we'll see.

Mills suggesting Rafa would be a good fit for Everton. What drugs is he on? What next King Kenny to take over at Man United. Don't get me wrong I'm not one of those fans that hates everything Liverpool, far from it but quite clearly a huge section of fans would never take Rafa. I wouldn't want him because I think he's **** not because of his previous ties.

Great, Quique is leaving us at the end of the season. Lost count how many managers we've been through in the last 3/4 years.

Hopefully the Mourinho situation will proceed now.

Can't see anything official being announced as LvG can still mathematically finish 4th (even if it's effectively impossible).

And I'm not against giving him the cup final, though he doesn't deserve it. And we might well lose anyway.

i wouldn't have thought an official statement would be made but things would be put in motion ''here's £xm, you still get to manage the cup final, thanks for the memories'' but they'd be bonkers to keep him if they lose tomorrow.

motivation, morale, belief would be rock bottom pre season when they will or should be looking at the summer to builld for a new start and challenge

utter imcompetence if they don't

He simply can't stay beyond this season. It would be an utter disaster on every front.

Fans would mutiny
Players wouldn't sign
Our best players would want to leave
We would finish mid table
Sponsorship would drop
No top manager would want the job the year after

Everyone knows and acknowledges that LvG has been a massive failure so there is no way he will still be in a job after the cup final. I think he has been the benefactor of a few massive slices of good fortune coupled with woodwards indecision and unwillingness to sack a manager half way through a season.

Mourinho or not, we will have a new manager before next season.
