Safest place to sell

I've never had any issues on ebay, apart from there fees as a seller. I only buy from reputable sellers with a long joining date. I prefer all transactions be done through PayPal as well for that extra layer of safety.

Thanks for the AVforums shout btw. I'll be checking them out for sure.

There’s a 3070 ti there right now so that should give you an idea on what you’d get on AVForums.

You do get more on eBay though, think of it as risking a dodgy buyer for 5% more cash (Maybe 10% more if you have discounted eBay fees)

If you want the most money then eBay using the 80% selling promotion. If you want zero risk then CEX, but they'll only give you a fraction of what it's worth and after selling a few GPUs to them you'll effectively have lost the value of 1 GPU anyway.

I sold about 50 items on eBay including a 3070 Ti for £700, never had any issues. The thing is you only hear about the people that get scammed so the risk of selling on eBay is usually greatly exaggerated.

I bought a PS4 with 2 v.2 controllers,5 games,PSVR v 2,all cables and he even threw in HDMI cables all mint condition. He wanted £300 I just said will you take £200? He went yep no problem. Very friendly guy as well. It's just the luck of the draw I suppose.

*On bookface marketplace.

FB is handy and just a case of weeding out the low ball offers and CEX for a quick sale.
eBay has been fine for me in the past but not used it for ages to sell anything.

I will add that I almost got scammed multiple times trying to buy a PS4. One guy even said I can have it for free, because I said I was struggling at Xmas (I was) He said meet me at X location. I was like F that. The other one wanted me to send him petrol money so he could drive to me lol. So be careful.

To be honest it's normally safest to go cex, although you will be given the lowest market price, you could possibly try other High Street store but not sure its going to be much more.

Facebook and ebay are about the same, they are as risky as each other. Both have time wasters apart from one messages you and the other bids. Same when it comes to being ripped off, one breaks into the house or robs you the other dose it in the post. To be honest my favourite is forum.

And yes I may have exaggerated a bit but my point stands. Forums are from my experience the best, naturally overclocker is the only place you should want to post on but I'm sure you can find others that also let you sell.

As others have mentioned AVForums is a good shout. I used to use MM on OCUK but lost access when they upped the post count requirement. Slowly clawing my way to 1000 posts.

Never had any issues on the members market here.

eBay is great, but I've been messed around on there by people with seemingly good feedback, and equally had no issues with people of less than 10 feedback, it's a roll of the dice. I think it can depend on what you are buying/selling to some extent and what the value is.

however make sure you use Royal Mail Special Delivery to post anything of any real financial value.

Do not touch eBay with a barge pole. My friend sold a 3070 on there last year. Buyer returned saying faulty and eBay backed the buyer.

The card he returned didn't work and I know that it was fine because we were both using his gaming pc the day before he posted the card.

So my mate lost a 3070. I hate eBay

Did the returned card have the same serial number? Was it in warranty?
