Saints Row IV

It still seems virtually unobtainable from UK outlets on DVD-ROM and given the mixed reviews everywhere, not paying over £30 to clog my bandwidth downloading off Steam.

Will wait a few months if/when it creeps into the £14.99 bargain bin.

I got it on steam and I find it fun to just load up and cause havoc for an hour or two then jump into other games again, currently grinding through FFXIV.

Picked this up aswell....Its fun for a while but for me it just feels too much like saints row 3...its basically a saints row 3 mission pack lol and it still runs like a dog. Crysis 3 runs much better than this.
One thing i do like though is the music selection lol, from what iv seen of the GTA V music this is far better, at least in my eyes anyway.

Never had a problem with running SR3 and I only recently updated my PC, not sure what the problem is that others are hitting but on both my Nvidia cards it was smooth.

Finished the game this morning, enjoyed the story but the grind got in the way. Imo they should have released it as a massive DLC, SR3.5 perhaps which was supposed to be the plan, would have made for an amazing end to the series.

Xbox 360 PC controller Problem Saints Row 4

realised that the controls were all messed up, I mean really messed up, this is using the xbox360 controller for Windows, I brought SR4 today, as-well. I am having the exact same issue.

More specifically.

A is B B is X

Left Stick up is right stick down Left Stick down is right stick up

Right stick up is left stick down Right stick down is left stick up

As you can see, this is completely inverted in every way, shape and form.
It is really fustrating, considering it used to work on SR3, and every other game it works on too.
I see others are having this problem, but nothing I found can fix, but to be honest I haven't really found anything helpful.

Before you comment and say, just use a keyboard, I do for most games, its just games like this and GTA I like to use a controller for.

Anyone else having this problem? Please help. Thank you.

I've done this method but didnt work

''#1 Saints Row 4 Controller Fix
Some users have reported that they haven’t been able to make their controller work with the game as it somehow doesn’t recognize the buttons probably.
If that’s the case, I will first recommend that you unplug your controller and then plug it back in while the game is not running. If that doesn’t help, you should make sure that no additional controller (USB) or pad is connected with your PC.
If there are any other controllers, disconnect them and if it’s possible, uninstall any third party software associated with them. Simply disabling those controllers can also do the work but if it doesn’t, disable them to resolve the issue.

Cracked and preordered this, saw enough gameplay to see it as PC version of prototype/Crackdown, cause it certainly isn't Saints Row anymore. Just finished it. 17 hours in, feels about 5 too long tbh. I agree with the sentiments that they should have clipped some of the rehashed activities and gone with it as DLC (making all the sidequests nothing but wrappers for the activities doesn't help)

Also disappointed with the lack of resolution at a certain long hanging plot thread, one mention near the beginning that after playing through the entire game is the extent of said characters participation in the game (which brings back a lot of old characters) feels like a big **** you.

As someone who has never played a SR game, would you recommend this or to play one of the previous versions instead?

I haven't played any of them either so bought the SR3 full package with all the DLC etc for half the price. They are both meant to use the same engine. Really liking it so far, much more fun that the last few GTA's.

Very much depends on what you want, Saints Row 2 is generally considered the high point of the series by the people who wanted a spiritual successor to San Andreas in the wake of GTA4s serious turn. Saints Row 4 on the other hand, outside of references to old events in the series has nothing to do with that game any more it's Crackdown with some old characters returning.

Personally I wouldn't bother. I've only played SR3, which is terrible. It has a really boring world, stupid looking cars, rubbish music. Incredi-bad compared to any of the GTA's.

Didn't like the first, too generic a gta clone, the second is supposed to be good on console but is possibly the worst pc port I have ever played. I did have a lot of fun with the third on PC, boring at times but some really stupidly good fun to be had with some of the characters and situations in that game.

Will try this one soon but it looks a lot more like an expansion than a sequel, is this the case?

I think its probably fair to say it could have been an expansion but im loving it more than 3 so far. I also dont think it would have been as good had it been an expansion. Im about 12hrs in and think ive done about 70% or so. Paid £32 for it and have no regrets

Almost finished this not worth the money tbh feels like a dlc for SR3 also it is stupidly repetitive.

It was an ok game, then I realised it was a reskinned Saints Row 3 with superpower DLC that should be the same price as FC3: Blood dragon

I agree 100% guys, but it looks like we are going to have to wait a long time after the console release for GTA 5, what alternatives have we got???
