Saints Row: The Third

great game just gets better.

im not entirely happy with the way my 580's are running it tho surly i shouldnt be dropping to 54 fps at times...

im loving it aswell im trying not to do all the main story mission striaght away i want the game to last, i know what im like ill do the main story then ill never play it again...

although sli is working in game i dont think its working 100% nvidia needs to release drivers with a sli profile aswell...

running 570GTX SLI here (2.5GB version) 100fps+ here easily. was running 285.79 drivers but crashed so now running lastest 285.62 whql drivers.

this is with the ultra config changes in the .ini file too!

Forgot all about the ini file that was posted, is the difference worth doing?

yeah seems to be the 580 owners again like in skyrim.

mine dips to the mid 50's at some points so its theres a prob with the game or drivers again as that cant be right with dual 580s, people with 1 580 getting about the same performance...

been doing a few benchmarks today and everything my end is spot on...

whats the ini file mod/tweak must have missed them???

Just got this installed. Made the mistake of making my character a woman who is nicely endowed in the chest area. Now all I do is run around with the camera facing back at the character :p

Other than that it does seem like quite a fun game so far, should be able to sink quite a few hours into it no problem.

I know the feeling. Yeah I know I need to grow up :)

Just done a fresh install of the 11.11 drivers and its running good now maxed out with the occasional stutter at least its playable now though.

Just completed the game, SR is no longer a poor mans GTA.. I really enjoyed SR2 but this one had me laughing a lot.

Next up; coop for some total chaos :D

Something is wrong with your computer or the game? Have you reinstalled it? I run the game maxed out and its perfect. Spec in sig.

Hi mate i have a 5850 just like yourself i seem to only be getting around 40fps with mine, i have my PII 955 OC to 3.7ghz as well is you 5850 OC? I have the detail set to high and things like shadows and reflections on low or off no AA and have AF set to x16. Im runnng the 11.9 drivers

One thing i have also noticed is that whenever i try and set my screen res to 1600x900 in game i apply the settings and when i go back into it it keeps changing it to 1480x900!!

There is a bug causing bad performance with most 5 & 6 series AMD cards. According to posts on rage3d/steam forums a new driver will be out this week to fix it.
On affected cards, you'll notice ~30-50fps outdoors no matter how quick your card is and what settings you use. For example I get 30-50fps on a 6990 no matter whether I use ultra or low settings. My friend on a single GTX570 on ultra gets ~80fps.
There are guys on the other forums with 2x6990s or 1x6990+6970 all getting 30-50fps outdoors

Yeah I agree with the above, my framerate stays the same no matter what I set. But lucky for me it is pretty high. The caps driver does state this for a lower res:

" New profiles added to this release:
- Saints Row 3: Resolves stuttering seen when playing in CrossFireX mode. Also provides Single GPU and CrossFireX performance improvements when running in lower resolution configurations"

So that driver is meant to help with single GPU at a low res, not sure if 1600 classes as a low res though to help you liamcrane. My guess would be no, but hey worth a shot I suppose.
