Agreed in that respect and what Mercedes have done will go down in history as the best ever. The rules need to change to allow the teams to develop car and engine to catch up however. Maybe not unlimited testing but it needs to be increased.

Yup. The budget cap should help but unless teams can develop their cars they can't catch the leaders.

But it isn't. It is just an artificial balancing act. If the top team messes up their whole season is a write off as they will be unable to fix it.
It's not cool because this is a handicap system. It's the equivalent of enforce lewis to run with success ballast.

But for people wanting the field to be closed up its a good thing. I agree though, maybe rather than giving the teams at the top less time they just give the ones at the bottom more? So everyone gets 100% and the bottom team gets 150% as an example?

Merc power track and both drivers fluffed it but got away with it by 0.05s
Max regularly splits the mercs by beating bottas, if he can repeat that tomorrow he will win with no Lewis.

It’s F1, it’s always been mostly the car. The only people surprised are those who have only starts watching in the last few years.

Leclerc out-performed his car again.
Bottas must be dreading tomorrow. Verstappen’s long run pace is good and he’ll go all in on lap one. Leclerc smells a podium as well, so he won’t be shy about putting some red paint on Bottas’ Merc. Russell just needs to stay out of trouble in the first few laps and wait for Bottas to start going backwards.

Really hope no one takes Bottas out. If Bottas is a coward. He'd get taken out so he doesn't have to face possibly of being beaten in a straight race

I have no doubt whatsoever that had Vandoorne had the seat he would not have been that close to pole/Bottas.
