** Samsung 830 seres SSD, CRAZY PRICE ** READ POST 342

The pricing on this drive has dropped to quite unbelievable levels in the last few days and as such have pulled the trigger on one
and might even get another at these prices to sit alongside it it raid 0 for a couple of months so I can sit and smile at the bench marks LOL

After a windows reinstall I put Diablo 3 on the SSD to see if there was any difference........ and its like night and day!

Out of the box and not update intel raid drivers yet. Really pleased with these

Before you aks :) I don't care about stripe raid0 as i have acronis running so it can crash all it want, but in all honesty i am running raid0 since the first wd raptors and i never had any problems with raid0

SSD's falling in price all the time.

HDD's for boot / applications about to become thing of past. I predict Dell will go mainstream with SSD's within 2-3 years.

Getting one of these next week if the 512MB version doesnt drop in price by then. If it does I'll have a tough time deciding whether i need a 512GB boot/games drive :D

Thinking of going for one of these now the price is back down again. Quick question for those of you who have already got one. Did you use Norton Ghost? And if so is your system stable or will you have to reinstall windows soon? Only ask as I fancy one but really don't know if I can be bothered to reinstall windows and all of my games (got slow internet so bf3.....takes a while)

Nortons Ghost will restore your drive file for file so you should have no trouble at all
just back up your entire hard drive to a spare drive replace old drive with new one and ghost your files back onto the new drive

It'll transfer across fine. Just add the new ssd to the system.

DO NOT assign it a partition or drive letter. Run ghost and once again, DO NOT assign it a letter.

Once you've made sure you've done both of those points set it going ;)
