Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

It looks like the Note holds the crown for most powerful Android -

Hopefully at the beginning of next week we should have it pitted against the SGSII too.

Andy, what firmware and version of Android is your Note using? Your Vellamo score is far below what it should be if on 2.3.6 and KK9. It should be around 950.

If you've not updated since getting the device then you really should do so as it has had big performance improvements.

I got an update when I turned on last night, but I thought when I checked it was only 2.3.5, but I could be wrong. When I manually checked, it said I was up to date.

Could it be related to disabled plugins? Also, when you run your tests, disable to last 4 I think (3 ones about finger and a network test?)

Ok, turning off the tests you mentioned and disabling plugins cuts the score down to 700. It seems to be disabling the finger tests that brings it down, disabling plugins makes no difference.

Still a decent bit higher than yours though, so make sure you're on 2.3.6.

One of the guys at work got one of these - he's a little fella, about 5ft 5 - and when we had our xmas drinks out in London last night he kept getting stopped by men asking him what the hell it was.

I've had 3 weeks leave from work and went back today to my Sunday job, (back to my other job tomorrow) and the reaction you get is not quite like anything I've ever had from any other phone. It is shock at first to most people, they are like what the hell is that, is that a phone? lol.

I did get to demonstrate it though (internet browsing, playing HD videos, showing games, even using the S pen :p) and the questions soon change too, how much does it cost, where did you buy it from, whats the best deal on contract, whats it called again? To say people were impressed is an understatement... but with Samsungs great marketing(!) most people had never heard of it!

I'm really loving the speed of this, its amazing. A couple of things annoy me though, no text wrappingbwhen a web page is zoomed in; the keyboard and its autocorrect - I cant get the hang of if.

Any tips on a suitable case, screen protector and car indiscreet mount?

Opera Mobile does text wrapping, though the text rendering in Opera annoys me. I never need to zoom in with Dolphin HD (or default browser) personally.

Likewise there's a whole bunch of different keyboards you can try. I like both Swiftkey X Tablet (you can split it in half like a thumb keyboard) and Swype.

I have discovered one problem with having such a high res screen... Apps that don't work on it. Today I tried Pacman Championship Edition, Carcassonne and Catan - none are playable on the Note as they don't scale to the 720p resolution. I expect the Nexus would have the same problem.

That has to be one of my favourite posts...

The text wrap is a real problem, especially in this scenario, posting in a forum. The words get hidden at the beginning or end of the line and you can't see silly mistakes like that.

The Space bar is also too short and I keep hitting the v or b keys when typing at speed, resulting in gobbeldygook.

Single i isn't automatically capitalized to I either. Maybe there's a setting for this?

Download a different keyboard if you don't like the stock one.

I wasn't having a pop,the subtlety of it made me smile was all.

Maybe you'll be glad to hear,in ICS it recognised when you hit b instead of space and corrects to two separate words. I do it loads...
