I made a mockup out of cardboard to see how big it really is. Note I'm a skinny guy.
It is surprisingly pocketable. I have it in my front jeans pocket now.
I'd say the length is 'perfect' in that I can sit down in my office chair, and bend over and touch my toes without it sticking into me. I would not be able to do this if it was say, 5mm longer. Or if something is under it (like say, my keys).
The thinness means there is plenty of room - hell, I have had my mytouch 4g+trident cyclops case in the same pocket.
I am thinking it would be fine with a case. I wonder how big an extended (5700 mah?) Seido battery would be.
I don't think it would look that out of place.
Other notes:
I have big hands. So one handed holding is absolutely no problem.
One handed use - not great. My thumb can't reach to the other side of the LCD.
Normal web browing/some apps are fine but texting/typing...... not without a custom keyboard.
After fake playing with it for a bit, it is clear that it is just a small tablet.
It has a stylus so you can comfortably use larger tablet apps.
For network stuff you can get online via cellular networks too.
Those who want a convenient (pocket sized) tablet will feel right at home.
Oh yeah, and you can also make phone calls with it. (just like any tablet, with skype, to be honest).
But those of you who just want a phone - the ergonomics just aren't great.
Those of you without big hands will probably find it just awkward to hold with one hand.
And I really think the earpiece and microphone are getting too far apart.
My opinion, then? For me, it's almost perfect.
I spend maybe 1-2% of the time holding the phone to my head making calls. Those calls are very short.
The rest of the time I am running apps and/or talking on the headset. The large screen is therefore fantastic.
One thing that will be slightly annoying is I won't be able to do certain things when I'm eating.
But I'll live with that.
