Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

Hmmm i had to download the samsung Kries Software for my pc to even see that the damn phone was connected :P

oh and like i asked earlier, has anyone managed to find any cases or screen protectors for this phone?

Just a update on mine.

It turned up today, it was the 8gb model. And to make it even worse, the guy from the retention had totally changed my contract without my consent to a 24 month £40 a month one.

So i was straight on the phone, and i have just cancelled the upgrade so I'm on a rolling contract atm.

What a bunch of idiots.

Call them up and ask for your recorded phone calls under the data protection act and then you have proof that he sent you the wrong deal. Then as to speak to a manager to rectify it, if not ring the daily mail, they love crap stories like this.
Or if you have patience, Watch dog at bbc and trading standards.

I rang up and spoke to someone, and asked them to listen to the recording, and I was told they would do, and the person would be dealt with.

To say I was a little annoyed, was a understatement.

I just took the phone back to the shop in Manchester, and they sorted the rest out. As i was heading that way anyway, so saved me having to wait in for a courier to pick it up.

Whats the easiest way of controlling when your phone connects to 3G cause at the moment unless its on plane mode, if its not connected to wifi it connects to my mobile internet...

Seriously considering getting one of these.

One question though if anyone already knows, or could perhaps try it out. Can the phone play a mixed album of MP3s without putting a gap between each track?

Thought I read elsewhere that it puts a pause between each MP3, but flac and ogg files it doesn't? Can anyone confirm this? If so would that just be the built in player and are there alternatives on the market place that play MP3s gapless?

When playing mp3s there is a 0 second gap between tracks so they don't overlap but there is no gap, the next starts instantly, but obviously if the end/start of the song is quiet...

So to be clear a mixed DJ set that is cut up into the individual tracks will just play through all the tracks and sound like one long mixed set and not have a slight pause between the tracks?

Sounds like it plays them without the pause from what you said though, thanks for the response. Returned my last phone cause it put a slight pause between the songs which is really annoying when they are mixed together.

I would have to test it tbh, but from using it now I think so. Most of my tunes fade out at the end but looking at the numbers and counting it is instant.

for example

3.45, 0.00, 0.01 in as many seconds.

I am 99% sure, either way you can download any Software any other Android phone can use so might as well get the best spec phone.

I had a look at a Galaxy S in cpw yesterday and it actually doesn't feel as plasticy as some sites have mentioned - I thought it felt quite alright.

Aye, I had a go on one in CPW the other day too (as well as an X10) and I didn't think the Galaxy S felt too bad at all compared to what I had been reading.

Indeed it feels fine imo.

Don't find mine plasticy at all now. Its just the initial shock of how light it is that draws you to the non-metal body I reckon.

People have different tastes i guess, i myself think it feels very quite nice and comfortable and not cheap and plasticy at all.
