Samsung Galaxy S24 Family Thread

Nice little trick I only found out today with Good Lock and Life Up, you can set certain fingerprints to run routines. e.g. Fingerprint 1 to unlock , Fingerprint 2 open an app etc

As tempting as waiting for the S25 was I finally returned to the Samsung family after my Pixel 6 decided it didn't like charging reliably anymore.

So far I'm enjoying it but I expected it to be a slightly smoother transition from a Pixel device, so many things are very similar but just different enough that it doesn't feel natural yet, I'm currently looking at that as a positive as it definitely feels more like a new phone experience unlike moving from one Pixel to another and having a battery that lasts a full day is nice too.

Yeah my cousin is wanting to move to the Samsung s24 ultra but the trade in doesn't have his pixel 8 pro. So he's not going to bother for now. He had a go on it and found it better. Tbh I do love my pixel but I may be tempted to try Samsung, their hardware seems to be really good and the s pen seems really useful.

1/3rd of my screen at the bottom has gone black but the touch screen is still responsive, randomly glitched out 10 mins ago and hasn't resolved with 3 restarts with volume down and power

anyone have any ideas? S24 Ultra

Run the diagnostic check from the Samsung members app and see if it gives any error codes.

Yeah all good on there, touch screen still works in the 1/3rd area I can't access and touch sensor.

I'll arrange an engineer to come to my property and fix the issue I think.

I haven't found much practical use with the s pen yet but being able to doodle for a bit every now and then is a nice little option.

Minor issue but has anyone else noticed a marking to the right of their s-pen nib? The pen must be rubbing against something internally. I don't even use mine much but on a black pen, it's very noticeable. A colleague at work who uses his all the time for note taking etc., told me about it today...

Nope nothing different to how it was from brand new. Have you got a picture?
Sorry for the poor photo, this is mine. Like I say, rarely ever use it.

My colleague's is about 100-times worse!

Same here. No issues but I rarely use it.

The image looks like it was pushed back in at an angle.

Ha, honestly, I'm so delicate with my electronics - if I hadn't have seen my colleagues pen, I'd have probably never noticed it on mine. But it's in literally the same spot, only a lot worse. He said he's posted on Amazon Q&A and had responses from some of the other owners and they're experiencing the same.

Pen button, should be screen side up shouldn't it?

Just checked mine again and definitely nothing like that. I rarely use mine either although it quite often clicks out so would have thought it's moving in and out.

Maybe there's some dirt in there that's been squashed in when you've put the pen back in and it's causing abrasion on the pen.
