Samsung Galaxy S24 Family Thread

Since we know what the S25 design is like I think I prefer the Pixel physical styling more now. That camera bump provides a convenient ledge for the finger to rest on which provides additional support/security .

I'm also finding the XL feels slimmer in ten hands than the S24 Ultra even though both share similar screen sizes.

Unless the camera is a next generation set-up then I don't think there's going to be any incentive to come back to Samsung for the S25 and I've grown to be a bit fond of the way Pixel does HD+ now haha..

I'm rather liking some of the features on 15 although the Samsung lockscreen is still better for now, though who knows what Google with do for Android 16 next year.

You are got a pixel phone? Lol

Does anyone who has Skype on their S24U having issues? It takes ages to load and type the first message though once it's done, it seems fine :/

Not really that much different to One0 UI currently barring a few alternative ways to do things needing to get accustomed to and One UI 7 adopts a lot of Pixel OS Android 15 UX anyway
:p

I definitely prefer the initial setup UI/system though, it is less problematic than Samsung Smart Transfer thing which basically never works over wireless for me so always have to use wired, and then when wired it only uses the wire whereas Pixel uses both wired and wireless to speed up pulling of hundreds of GB of data to the new phone from the S24U.

I may be back on S25U but only if the camera is a new generation. That is the only thing that natters to me more than anything else given how close everything else is in terms of usability etc after that initial day 1 set-up as I have my phones set up the same way doing the same things.

Also I recommend everyone installs the Gemini app on non pixel phones, Gemini so far has been much nicer an AI Q&A experience vs Hey google or Bixby or whatever else people use from time to time.

Thought you was loving the S24U and particularly the camera? What changed?

Nothing changed, S24U camera is still superb, my S24U is being repaired by Samsung so will have it back soon then will sell it to gain some funds back as I am actually enjoying the sidestep and some of the camera improvements especially using Black Magic Raw Camera on Pixel as it doesn't produce as nice results on Samsung.

Always good to switch it up now and then, glad you're enjoying.

Will tag you when S25U pre-orders are live mate.

I've already eyeballed the 12% airtime rewards at Samsung, 10% cashback on Amex... ready and waiting for some good specs hah.

Pixels don't seem to hold as much value on phone recycling as Samsungs and the 1TB XL is currently offering £616 so expect that to be a bit lower come Jan time. but still if the Sw5 Ultra is only a small bump over S24 Ultra then I will just ride out the Pixel 9 wagon for a year or two and leverage the latest Android builds :p
