Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Tablet

If you look around you can find a whole thread full of praises from uk buyers since Jan this year for the amazing service from this company and none of them mentioned getting a nasty charge of VAT which most people would be worried about.

Well if it is being circumvented, then I suppose such people have no right to complain about people not paying their taxes then.

I don't see why avoiding VAT is somehow accepted on the internet.

For the same moral rationales that we use to download movies, books and games. Its nice to get one over the system sometimes. Besides, your argument is nothing that hasn't been rehashed a gazillion times on the interwebs... just accept that people will do it regardless. ;)

Some of these companies are quite cheeky and label them as very low value items, which is the case with this one.

My google skills fail at finding this company. May have to wait. Seen some great reviews on youtube on the 3G version, which is probably what I'll go for.

If you go to google.co.uk and type the name of the device "samsung galaxy tab 7.7" then click on the shopping tab on the sidebar it should be one of the companies with a very reasonable price BUT with hundreds of positive reviews on the first page of results.

Can someone please just frigging buy it so im not the only one in the blue village who can talk about it? :p

btw I'm open to questions if anyone has then!

Not at this size, no.

And sorry Richdog, I'd get one if the iPad 3 wasn't being announced in a few days. :(

Fair enough old chap but an iPad is an iPad... it will have a great high res display, great build quality, be a bit or fair bit faster than the iPad2, and run on the Apple OS/ecosystem... we all know more or less what to expect even weeks before its release. If you like Apple or have an iPhone then its certainly the logical purchase. :)

Mine arrived yesterday from Hong Kong (£340) and while it a nice piece of kit i must admit to being slightly underwhelmed. The screen is excellent and it very small and portable but seems to be quite laggy compared to my S2. I don't know if the lagging is down to Honeycomb or me using more widgets than i ever did on my phone but overall was
expecting it to be smother than it is. I'm also struggling a little to get used to Honeycomb and look forward to have ICS on both phone and desktop.

Two questions

Are there any way to increase the size of the icons as they are quite small on the screen
Any recommendation for tablet apps

That is Touchwiz and Honeycomb causing the slowdown... use a third-party launcher like GO or ADW, and then do a tweak to keep the homescreen in memory .
