Samsung NC10

Just ordered, can't wait :D Shame it wasn't available from OCUK, would have preferred to have custom here (yes I am that inpatient).

Got my black one today, it is gorgeous but very much a fingerprint magnet. If this concerns you then you may want to opt for the white. Personally I don't mind one bit. The hardest thing to get used to is the small touch pad but I am impressed with the technology behind it. It's cool to be able to do things like pinch zoom that even my 1 year old Dell XPS M1530 can't do. The screen is beautiful and bright and the sound is up to what I would expect from a machine like this. I am very happy with this netbook and I think anyone who gets one will be too.

So it's a glossy black as opposed to a satin black then ?

I can confirm it is most definitely a glossy finish as opposed to satin and that the screen is not glossy which is a really nice touch. I'm happy to answer more questions and I would post pictures but I'm at work!

Thanks for that, IMO that's a shame, but happy I chose a white one :) as although You would think I might come across as not liking the little thing that is far from the truth it has a lot going for it !

I agree that the touchpad takes a bit of getting used to, partly because it’s not recessed into the body of the laptop so I’ve found my finger slipping off the edge; only noticing when the cursor stops moving on the screen. It does look good though.

Ment to say earlier to the guys about first boot, If You have the know how before first boot I would have ghosted the recovery partition and c: partition
Copied them somewhere safe then format and partition the full drive and ghost back the C partition
Thinking behind it is We have 160gb it needs to be partitioned and I like partition magic but when these recovery partitions exist PM will not work as they screw with the MBR
For Me a 5gb backup partition on the end of the drive which I ghost My fully configured operating system to is simple and bomb proof (especially if backed up elsewhere) As it has always been My experience that when You need that hidden recovery it's sitting on the drive that itself has failed :D

There May be other partition managers that will work with these drives but for Me Partition magic has proven itself 100% reliable and when it does not like a partition table lots of other little apps and utilities do not either

I have been having that problem with the trackpad as well, if only it was indented it would make a big difference.

Yes...

please post some pictures for your black netbook.. I am really interested in the black one but was hoping some 'user' pictures before I actually go and spend my £. None of the stores have them in stock or on display at the moment..

Thanks!

Some people have been reporting problems with the wifi on this netbook...

is this true? can somebody please confirm?

Also if it is true, what have you done to rectify this problem?

Thanks

I should be able to post a picture of mine too this afternoon. I’ve not had any problems with the wifi, and I’m really impressed with the signal strength - it picks up about 10 local wifi networks to my home whereas my desktop PC only discovers 3.
