A quick word of advice regarding the initial set up - when you first switch the computer on, after you set up Windows, the recovery program runs and asks you how you want to partition the hard disk. Note that D: is not used as the backup location (as suggested by the warning when you try to shrink D: below 25GB), it’s actually just an extra partition available in Windows. The recovery program uses a pre-partitioned hidden Z:. I like to have all my documents on a partition separate from the Windows system and made the mistake of setting up D: to the 25GB minimum thinking it was the recovery partition and would essentially be wasted space. There is no easy way to change the partition size afterwards, Partition Magic didn’t run (error 117). I fixed it by reinstalling Windows from an external CD drive using the recovery disk and everything is set up perfectly now, the drivers were all extremely easy to install from the Samsung CD.
At least I now know that the system is easily to restored to it’s original configuration should I wish to try a different OS in the future!
