Samsung NC10

Come to think of it, I can see three 'shadow' points, two of them are about two inches up from the bottom, two inches in from the left. The last one really faint but just above the start button. They seem to stand out more like optical illusions when you know they're there but I guess they're better than having dead pixels.

:D I did say don't look for problems, there are other issues with the panels but I'm not saying any more....Just enjoy what basically is a good budget netbook it's not a Sony, neither has a Sony price tag !

I thought leds still went around the edge on cheap panels. anyway i dont think its that, theres a halo around each patch...definitely looks like someone at the factory has handled the screen poorly.

You could be right there, I can't find out much about them ! it which case it's a Poor defuser, But the effect I've seen on them makes it look like they have led's behind the panel.

I have had mine almost 3 weeks and have still not taken the clear plastic from the back or the screen LOL.
After comparing both the Black and white versions, I think the White looks a little better/stands out more (I would say that as I have the white model!)

My friend has bought one of these and now I'm tempted! I have a Samsung R700 at the moment (which i love) and this looks like a smaller version :) Looks reallly nice. Just for reference. My R700 has a Hitatchi 250gb drive in it which is dead silent and no vibration what-so-ever :) It kind of surprised me that they didn't use Samsung drives in their laptops

got one coming on monday, sold the 4211 i had and got this for £3 more than i sold the advent for (albeit that had 320gb & 2gb ram) mainly for the 6 cell battery tbh, and i looks nicer

Not sure if this has been asked (sorry if so) but would this laptop be suitable for installing Visual Studio, SQL Server (Express) and also running IIS on?
I know XP Home doesn't come as standard with IIS but you can get it on there can't you....I'd like it to do my work on and wondered if this kind of stuff would kill it.

I've been using Visual C++ on it and it's working fine so far!

Just received mine today and I'm actually posting from it right now. Very impressed indeed and out of all netbooks I've tried, this one has definitely got the best keyboard in my opinion. Speakers are surprisingly decent and so far it's holding charge pretty well. Very pleased indeed :D

Has anyone sorted a (decent) case for the NC10 yet? Not a neoprene nasty :)

I'm not too fussed about the material but it would've been nice if the flap zipped up or closed shut with velcro or something.

I'm hoping this price hike doesnt result in OC rma dept deciding my blotchy screen doesnt warrant changing so they can avoid giving me a new one.
You might have noticed a slight negative feeling about OC rma dept...ive had bad dealings with them in the past over a motherboard.

ok just notice a weird thing going on, my fn buttons are not working properly, some do some dont even tho ive got magic keyboard running.
any thing i can do to sort this or is this a total random weird one !!
