Samsung NC10

Once you go upto a 12" screen you are stepping out of the netbook catagory and into ultra-portable laptops though. Still, I wouldn't be too surprised to see the atom make it's way into some slightly larger units still at a low cost, maybe not the N270 though, I would think more likely the Diamondville chips when they come out, which are basically dual core Atoms.

Bear in mind that Samsung alteady make the Q210, P210 and NP-P200, which are all 12.1" notebooks.

Just looked at the rest of the spec, I see I thought teh cpu remained the same :/

Ah well, NC10 it stays!

Hmm 12" is too large tbh. Eventually they'll be able to hit 1280x800 on the present 10" panel but not any time soon I'd guess.

Anyone running Win 7 my sound goes when it comes back from sleep mode

Reboot and it's fine again.

Is it a known bug or should I report it?

There was a similar thread somewhere else relating to loss of network connectivity after resuming from sleep. I think it was down to power management settings on the network card for that particular case, so it might be worth checking power management on sound card and what it is set to do. That was certainly the case with Vista, so guessing it may be similar with 7.

Found the answer just need to download realtek drivers for vista :D

I am hoping some learned soul might be able to answer these questions:

- how do you manage to change the battery settings so the lcd dimmer does not work on media player files; i know you use the exceptions button but can anyone give any guidance?

- how are you guys managing to clean the top of your lids? is there any special way of best going about this?

- any recommendations for cases?

Thanks so much, this thread has been great.

Ordered the NC10 in white yesterday. Just waiting for delivery now, should be here by 12pm :D

Received. Absolutely amazing. Stylish, sleek and excellent finish on the white NC10. I had a Dell Latitude X300 lying around, and I thought that was small but wow, the NC10 is even smaller. The screen is very clear, bright and the keyboard is excellent, one of the best ive used.

If you are thinking of buying one, dont think, click BUY now! :)

Thinking of getting one of these but I really don't have the time to wade through this entire thread.

I'd just like to know what these are like for typing on and reading text for extended periods?

I know its a netbook but I'm considering getting one of these instead of a laptop to do my dissertation on.
