Samsung NC10

This is how they look 5 mins after you pick it up...

Greasy fingermarks everywhere.

Prints won't show up on the white but greasy marks will be harder to clean off because on matte you need a bit more elbow grease to remove them. On the glossy ones a simple wipe with a cloth is all that's needed :)

Also the keyboards I can imagine you will be able to see them yellow over time and grime! - I am reminded of the MAC keyboards at my old workplace which was as grimy as filth and the white KB didn't help in hiding some of the splendid gore!

I was considering buying a lapjack for mine ( http://www.lapjacks.com/ ) but I cant really justify the cost. Would be quite nice and practical though I think as I'm also one of those people who keeps a cleaning cloth handy. :o

Whoop

Whoop

I have a lens cleaning cloth in the samsung suede pouch, fits nicely :)

Those lapjacks though look sick!

Saw some brilliant skins on the bay last December. Almost went for a matrix style code skin until I saw that international delivery was around £28 or so. Balls to that. I had a 3M skin on my XPS 1530 before I passed the machine on last year, and it was really good. Peeled off nicely with no residue.

Wish decalgirl would do some :/

white has picked up hardly any marks in a month's usage, occaisional dark mark on the screen, a few rubs with a giner and its gone, SO glad i didn't get a shiny black/blue

I've had mine for a week now, got a blue one and 2GB ram. I love it, the keyboard really is good. I already have a USB dvd drive so installing stuff isn't a problem.

Still got XP on it at the moment, I've been playing around with various linux distros installed on usb keys. I might end up putting Windows 7 and/or Mintlinux on it eventually. Built in wireless doesn't work with Mint till you get the correct drivers sorted, there's a guide online for ubuntu that works the same for mint as expected.

I've just installed Vista and 2GB of ram on my NC10 and now seem to have 256MB graphics memory (originally had 128MB).

Can someone else check there NC10 and let me know what it says.

I take it that it just increases the amount of graphics memory because of the 2GB of ram i've installed, and not to do with Vista/drivers.

Also do you think this will make much difference when gaming?? (I've not done anything taxing yet.) Most people on here seem to think that 2GB does not make any difference under XP but wouldn't this help??

Has anyone found a workaround for installing Canon software to the Sammy? What happens is this. I get a requester box up that says screen resolution not high enough to install software. I intend taking mine to Cuba in Feb and it would be nice to have my Canon 5d Mk2 software on there. On a side note I also tried installing my HP Colour laserjet 1510n to the Sammy but it ended up giving me a requester box saying "Visual Basic ha to stop because of an unusual request............." If I tried to access the printers in Control Panel, the CP ended p not responding. Anyone any ideas?

Try enabling the external monitor at a higher res. On the other hand, the software might refuse to start when you switch it back...

As an aside, I tried to connect my NC10 to my 42" 1080p TV, failed miserably. Can't get a signal to show at all (already tried the obvious settings, anything special I should know?)

Did you install the Intel 945GM drivers from intel?

The default WDDM drivers don't have proper multidisplay support IIRC.
