****San Diego 3700+ Steppings and Clocks- Retail and OEM****

Hello All... Just received my AMD Athlon 64 3700+ (retail) from the delivery dude.

Could someone help me out regarding stepping? Mine is KAB3E 0548.

I've noticed a few people have posted stating that they have the same KAB3E - have you managed a decent overclock? Also, is there any websites with a stepping guide? The only one I've found is out of date!

Muchos gracias!

Got a retail chip from here about 3 weeks ago. Stepping started KACAE and got it to this on air :D

Is prime stable at 2.9gig and still working on getting it stable 3gig

drop down to a 9x multi and bump up the HTT again to see if you can get a higher clock without thevoltage bump?

Agent.

bah mate , i think it wont do any good, mates who have the same stepping (seems a common one in greece) report the same thing. :(

wouldn't be too dissapointed thats still a cracking clock. What temps are you getting and what cooling do you use??

gee i know , its hard to find a nice piece of CPU in the UK. All diegos here are KAB7E and most of them do over 2900 <1.45.

the tank is custom built , sorry for the toilet paper used to hold it horizontally :D

Ok mine SHOULD be arriving tommorow, whats the stock voltage on these ?
Will post codes for you lot to speculate on once it arrives ;)

Code is :
CCBWE0541TPMW

Early tests don't look good, Doesn't seem to let my memory post at T1 even though it was fine with the Opteron 170, and even 1.55v wont get me into windows @ 2.8 without a BSOD along the way :(

Do these have a different memory controller to opteron DC then, or is this one just pants ?

I have a CCBWE 0542 VPMW that does 2750Mhz but needs 1.52V to run Prime stable.
[email protected] wasn't even Prime stable so any higher would require >1.7V and a Vapo

OK those wishing to get one of these might want to avoid the current stock here !
Even 2.75 with 1.53v this one fails prime in 4 mins :(
Added to the fact it runs hotter than my Opty did (and that was DC) and doesnt seem to like T1 memory timings, its all in a bit of a dissapointment TBH.

So can anyone tell me if the mem controller is different to the optys and what stock voltage is for these chips please ?

Have a look at this thread
Download the program and post your details, maybe that gives some info?

CCBWE generally means toledo with one core disabled. Looks like you got a failed dual core too...

mine is doing 11X250 @ stock volts which is 1.35v at the moment. Shall i push it some more, im on an asrock dua mobo. bought fom ocuk last week

You might be quite limited with that motherboard as it doesn't offer much increase in the vcore unless you mod the board itself. Saying that you've got a very nice clock there on stock volts - providing is 100% stable. I'd keep slowly upping the fsb till it becomes unstable and then up the vcore a little till its stable again, and so on alternating between the two. I'm not to sure what volts that board will allow you to put through the cpu but I've got 1.55v through mine to get it 100% stable at 2.85gig, just keep an eye on temps as the more volts the hotter things will get.
