m8, $700m is a lot of money, even to Intel.
ITs also the huge loss of momentum at a critical time for them

Does that work?
I think everyone is over reacting a little bit here.
First off. I don't care is ports 3 - 5 are playing up as im never going to use them.
If i do see other things adjusted from the recall, Ill just grab a new one off of OC when there available and then send them my old one back for RMA, or get it refunded myself.
Maximum potential impact for me...
Swapping out a motherboard..
no big deal...
Not as bad as when i hear on the radio that honda was issuing a recall on my S2000 for a brakes issue... as I was driving along in it...
Relax people... your boards will be working just find for longer than it takes them to get the fixed boards into supply.
And Intel have admitted fault, so refunds will be no problem.
Sit back, Let the Intenet simmer down... and personally im going back to tweeking for a 5ghz stable
The thing I'm concerned about is resale value and price drops. If Intel pull the plug, tell retailers to stop selling these potentially faulty motherboards and have to wait 12 or so weeks for the revision, won't the current stock that retailers have of the 1155 cpus plummet in price (albeit temporarily)?
So your not going to return yours? Enjoy trying to sell it when you upgrade.
The supply issue of halting/changing production is more of a problem than the problem itself.
This is truely aweful for anyone that has bought these boards.
