I assume it isn't the one who's name sounds like the hardware device you use to transfer documents etc to your computer, as some folks remarked earlier that they were not playing ball in that respect.

That shop is being a pain in the ass. They've been almost silent on the problems and have been refusing RMA requests. My board is actually broken yet they're refusing to accept the RMA request, telling me to make do until Asus can swap it out for a new one. Meanwhile they've been selling B3 revision boards quite happily to new customers.

I think the shop he's referring to is Gibbo's previous employer. They're saying;

For those of you who bought the older revision motherboards. Don't panic. If you want to swap out your board for the new B3 revision, please contact your motherboard manufacturer who will issue you with an easy and simple swap.

If you don't want to RMA your motherboard to the manufacturer, you can contact our CS and we can either issue you credit, or a swap to the new B3 all via our RMA department.

Oh, and they're refunding shipping costs for any RMA's sent to them, so really quite faultless service.

wow that is good to know, i have to say, knowing that next time i need anything they will be the 1st place i look (assuming they are price competitive) . I think the companies who are not doing this need to have a think and decide if the saved hassle of not helping your customers is worth lost sales.

Back in the day i used to order a lot from them, but then i moved house and kind of forgot about them.

as far as i know ocuk are swapping the boards if they have stock of the b3 board you need, i went to the shop yesterday with my b2 asus p8p67 pro was there 10 mins and left with a new b3 board, i did have an RMA open with ocuk though

Can someone (preferably OCuk staff) please confirm the information from this post (click me!) is correct and applies to the P8P67 Deluxe?

In other words, if I don't use the light blue ports (or ever plan to) then there's no *need* for me to replace my P8P67 Deluxe?

Thanks.

Yep, basically. However if you ever wish to sell your board on, when you upgrade, it will probably make difference to the resale value if you don't swap it out. Personally, I'm waiting a little while, so hopefully there will be a smaller rush of people trying to get their boards replaced, so the down time is as little as possible.

Thanks for the clarification.

Usually a family member will inherit my 'old' PCs so there's no resale value to worry about. I'd be more concerned with the replacement lead time/problems with the new board & further delays/etc! :)

So is there somewhere we can now put in our details to asus to start the rma process, or is it not sorted out yet.

I can't find anything on asus website where i can put in my board details to start the actual process.

Ive got the page to see if my board is affected which of course it is, but what do we do now???

The place i bought the board is refusing to replace it  last order they ever get from me, and probably asus also, seeing as they managed to sort out north america but not the uk:mad:

So is anyone else not bothering sending theirs back then? Don't think I'm gonna bother personally, I see the risk from taking it all to bits and back together greater than the risk of every having a problem from the current motherboard seeing as I don't use the affected ports.

Only reason im sending mine back is (as my ports still work) is for when i come to upgrade no one will likely want to buy a B2 over a B3 either that or there will be a huge price difference on that and remember your warranty will restart from when you get the new board which is worth while for me, msi's advanced replacement should only mean a few hours disruption anyway, ill take mine apart the night before im due the delivery, go to bed, wake up goto work swap the boards, come home put it back to gether in about 10 or 15 mins and jobs a good un :D
