Sapphire GTO² available exclusively from OcUK and Modding instrutions inside.....

If someone wants to send me the files and the batch file for flashing the cards I would be more than happy to create a bootable CD image and host it.

First time I have every did anything like this, so I was a little nervous, but thankfully it all went well, got the 16pipelines and in properties it says its an x850 :).
Just wondering what drivers are people using and what is a safe overclock on this card?

@ sculptor pci gfx would work but you could also flash it blind which is what i did after my first flash failed  not recomended though if your new to flashing but seeing as it beeps when done you will know if its done.
as for rma didnt you read the small print on the buy page once flashed your warranty is void

Cheers Dougsnake, Ill try flashing it blind in the morning, heads in bits after it failing. So ill leave it till then.
Guess I just boot up with floppy wait till its loaded then type in the command line wait till I hear the beeps then reboot and hope its worked.
If I wanted the old bios would I use the command line:-
"flashrom -f -p 0 biosold.bin"
Thanks for your help mate :)

OMG - I Think it worked ....... I thing it worked .... well gonna check 16 pipelines are on then install the drivers .... ( Will get back to you with further detials ) DONT use the bios at the start of the thread i used the techpower flashrom and bios!!! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

Surely if the BIOS that the start of the thread isn't working it should be removed before any more inexperienced people use it and have some serious problems?

I suggest to OcUK that they remove the BIOS at the start of the thread. Replacing it with a link to the techpower up article might be a good idea as long as they get permission.

Ive just tried flashing my GTO2 with the modded bios.
It seemed to work although it took about 30 seconds before the display came on.
I though Id reinstall the drivers as when it booted up it was on the windows default display.
I removed the ATI sotware by using the Add Remove in the Control Panel, clicked OK to restart. When the pc rebooted there was no display just a black screen.
Obviously someting has gone wrong with the flashing of the bios though I feel I did it correctly.
Is it possible to use a pci card to boot with and then flash the GTO2 again if so would I need a Nvidia pci card so the system recognises it is the GTO2 Im trying to flash. Or would I be better off just RMA-ing the GTO2.

before RMAing try to reflash to orignal bios at least

Yes very good idea !!

Still mega problems with the card! As i said earlier, a better step by step flash procedure is needed so that everyone understands how to do it correctly.

As for packaging, come on Overclockers, you are a PC component seller, surely you know that these card are sensitive and delicate!! They need to be boxed and bubble wrapped, surely!?

Do you get a PCI-E to 4 pin adaptor with this card?

And would i be able to run this card with a non 2.0 spec PSU?

u get the card, driver cd and case badge,4pin molex to 6 pin pci-e adaptor cable, composite tv out cable,dvi-dsub adaptor plug,2x tv out extension cables, and a female composite adaptor no box though but you get everything you would get in a retail box except no free games etc

Tried flashing it blind this morning with the flashrom and bios from the Tech Power Up site and it worked fine. So if anyone still hasnt flashed yet use the Tech Power Up links to dowload the flashrom and bios.
An extra couple of thou in 3D 2001, havent tried clocking it yet.
Thanks again Dougsnake. :D

Err have you tried techpowerup's guide? Seems pretty straight forward and easy to me.

So what's everyone getting in 2001se then before and after flashing?

Cheets, have you checked to see if the other gcard port is working on the card? as my d-sub still doesn't work so am usingthe dvi and adapter.

Regards,

Matt

Got one for the lads machine, whacked it in, flashed it, clocked it.......Runs lurvely :) Leaving it at 520/540 for the time being until i get some better cooling on it.

Btw what drivers are people using? I've always run nvidia cards but i couldnt resist at the price it's up for.
