One final thing, have you tried forcing an error - what happens if you boot with no gcard in, or no ram, do you get any error beeps?

P.S. Does the motherboard have the speach reporter? if so hook some speakers up and see if it tells you what problem is.

ive created a bootable DVD image using windows 98 boot disk files and have injected the flash files needed into it. if anyone would like it its 2mb, you just need to go to nero, select bootable dvd from the wizard, select the location of the file i send you, then burn it (it shows nothing in the file browser but dont worry, it works fine.) if you want more detailed instructions id be happy to put together full screen shots and a step by step process, just e-mail me or drop a line after this :)
 
Mine arrived this morning. :)

I'll have a go at fitting and modding it this evening. S'ok, my system could do with a bleeding and clean anyway. From the looks of the card I may have to get some ramsinks, as the stock cooler does appear to provide cooling for the memory as well as the core.
 
Well i have just got my system running, i dont know what the problem was i booted with min stage by stage, i took the motherboard out my case and boot it off my bed, works now. :D

But i dont have a floppy drive, grrrr. More petrol wasted going to the shops.

May I suggest you get the system running and happy before changing the bios - lol - just to be on the safe side.

i not doing anything to the bios or the graphics card just yet, gonna play some games first and get windows setup and just let the system get settled.

Glad to hear you got it working mate. Let us know how you get on with the card in windows / games? Best to check that it works ok without flashing it first.
 
Ordered one of these babies, banged it in the pc and did the bios flash.
everything works great, ran ati tools and noticed that is has been picked up as 16 pipeys!!! :)
however how do i overclock it??
id like to run 520 Mhz core and 540 Mhz memory

Use Ati Tools, there are several overclocking options on there and an Artifact scanner.

When you open up Ati Tool you get two sliders, one for core one for memory. You can alter those to overclock, you can also use the "Find Max Core" and "Find Max Mem" buttons which will automatically start overclocking and check the overclock using the artifact scanner.
 
My X800GTO2 Arrived today! Superb card. Up and running with no problems! Battlefield 2 looks awesome!! The back plate looks bent a little but does not hamper installation.

Will flash when i get a better step by step walkthrough off of someone (Hint Hint).

Great card though............COOL
