According to SapphireEd on their latest live stream the Nitro+ OC will have binned GPUs. So we should be expecting better user Overlocking out of these hopefully.

Shocking. This card has been too hot since it was new, and that ^ is why. Sorry for going OT. Original point I was making on Friday was I was fed up with hot AMD cards and hoped RX 480 might be different.

Too much TIM won't impact temperatures much, it's more the mounting and quality of compound that matters.

The first page of this post says 27 orders in the first 5 mins, when this post probably had like half of a view. I'll consider myself lucky if I'm in the first shipment which I heard will be 1-2k cards(I'm assuming total over the whole nitro range).

I think some people should be receiving their card this week. It was previously mentioned that a batch of 30 was arriving and being sent out. Unfortunately I am not in that as my pre-order was in the 70's

. Would be great to hear from anyone who has got one.

Was thinking of getting 2xRX480 8GB, but I know from previous experience that exhaust cards are better because the heat goes out of the case. Is it the same with these cards? Would the nitro not be the best option for me?

The exhaust type is generally considered poorer cooling for the card and noisier, but better for cramped and hot cases. As long as you have a decent exhaust fan in your case these dual fan ones should be fine.

Have you tried crossfire before? It's not a great experience.

If you are getting more than one you should definitely get the reference design as all the heat will be exhausted out the rear of the case.

It looks like the 280X socket, so you may be able to use a copper shim with any of the current coolers.
