SAPPHIRE RX 480 NITRO NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (WORLD FIRST) !!!

I think some people should be receiving their card this week. It was previously mentioned that a batch of 30 was arriving and being sent out. Unfortunately I am not in that as my pre-order was in the 70's :(. Would be great to hear from anyone who has got one.

Where do you see your position in the queue? Wonder where I'm at (though I don't mind waiting for August 5th to be honest).

yeah, i'm happy to wait. I asked in the customer service forum and someone got back to me within the day with my number.

Im in with the nitro+ OC 8GB version, just couldn't resist those backplates! :)

Upgrading from a 6950 do looking forward to it, although OCUK EU delivery seemed a bit steep, £40. I decided to have it delivered to my home address in the UK and have it shipped over (to Finland) by other means.

Is it always that high on higher value items? I don't remember it being so

I have to admit I've been considering cancelling my pre-order to go with a 1060. I've looked at some comparisons and looks like it could be better for my needs (@1080p), but I've always had AMD so a little hesitant to switch and not sure if it would be worth the extra £50.

Sticking to my guns so far though.
Darn this upgrade itch! haha

All you guys debating whether to buy 480 or 1060, answer lies here

Do you intend to keep the card for more than 2 years? If yes 480 is the better choice, if no then get a 1060.

1060 will be the poorer choice in 2 years and redundant in 3

I would stick to it, this version of the card is comparing a lot better to the 1060 than the reference ones were, and at 1080p both cards will run great. But I feel you man, I'm on a 1gb HD7750, and while it has served me well, by now I am very ready to move on.

Yeah I wish the communication would have been a bit better. I've sent webnote on Tuesday 19th and I was told it was going to be in stock on 22nd.

I don't see it like that really.. The 1060 is the faster card in some DX11 games, but not all and not by much on average. In most DX11 games both cards are adequate for your needs, the difference is DX12 and Vulcan.

In DX12 the 480 beats the 1060 in most games, and that will become more skewed towards the 480 as more DX12 games are released that are built to be DX12 games from the start, and not just 'patched' DX11 games either. The thing that truely shows the performance of these cards is Vulcan, the 480 absolutely smashes the 1060 and even getting close to the 1070 - Vulcan shows what these cards can do, and DX12 games aren't close yet.

this is me asking
