SAPPHIRE RX 480 NITRO NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (WORLD FIRST) !!!

I'll wait until after the weekend, if no update then ill have to go with the 1060.

Serious note, is there much difference between the two? The palit is £10 more. I don't have a freesync or gsync monitor yet.

Not really, the 1060 is winning most dx11/opengl benchmarks by single digit fps, with RX 480 looking better in DX12/Vulkan, but also by not that significant margins. Freesync is apparently huge though, and a lot cheaper than Gsync. I'm really excited about getting Freesync myself, and Gsync in my country is even more expensive with the cheapest Gsync monitors being roughly DOUBLE the price of good Freesync monitors.

My main game is going to be BF1. I take it its worth sticking with my order and not switching to a 1060. Very tempted if nothing after weekend.

There have been a lot of funny review choices this time round, Doom benches not using Vulcan etc, but it could also be early drivers on some reviews, which makes a difference on AMD hardware. One of the plus points of releasing the partner cards a month or so later is it gives the drivers a chance to catch up for when they get reviewed.

yep i noticed some of the reviews a bit odd, one had the 1060 only 2 fps behind the 1070 in gta 5

Good price. I would have jumped on that.

I would if my Antec 300 would fit it... I'd replace the case but then I lose the cost saving and with extra power requirements its just not worth it (assuming we get the 480's in this week).

I also only recently sorted out the cabling and replaced the fans so not keen on redoing that so soon.

Missed that bit. Cheapest I can find 390x new is £250. So same price as my Nitro +OC pre-order. Every day I eye up the Fury @ £300.

That Fury does look good but same issue with the case - I cancelled the Nitro 480 to buy one and spotted the issue. Its 3cm short. I reordered the 480 but I'm now right down the queue having reordered on the 12th. If I had kept the original order I might have my new card by now.

(My Antec 300 has done me well and I'd love to replace it but my budget of £250 is probably more than I should be spending anyway!)

I'd probably rather go for the 4GB Sapphire RX480 at £199 rather than the R9 390 at £203. Nearly identical performance for slightly less ££ and heat.
