hmm , No ricky was just not good enough, anyone who knows anything about boxing knew there was only one winner, I am just surprised that it lasted so long.

I admit Mayweather was the better fighter in the end..
However I think if Ricky was allowed to make his mark more during the first few rounds the mentality of both fighters may have changed and ultimately the outcome of the fight woulda been different.

It was always gonna be tough moving up a weight.. but moving up a weight and fighting the "best" pound for pound on the planet was perhaps too much to ask.

A rematch with a different ref would be interesting.. as would a quick check of the official score cards up to the 10th...
I'm not suprised at all that it lasted that long..
Having seen the De la Hoya fight a few months back I'm more suprised Mayweather came into this undefeated!

Absolutely gutted. :(

I don't want to go on about the things that seemed to go against Hatton, I think Mayweather deserves all the credit.

I honestly can't see a single fighter beeting Mayweather given his fighting style. He's happy to fight on the back foot all night long, let his opponent do all the pressing, but when he does throw his punches I have to say he's the most accurate puncher I've ever seen.

It was worrying even within the first few rounds as Hatton was giving absolutely everything (possibly too much) and yet there was very little actually getting through and damaging Mayweather. And since Mayweather often takes a few rounds to get going, it was always in the back of my mind that Hatton would tire just as Mayweather was getting into his stride.

All in all, whether you like Mayweather's boxing style or not, you have to concede that he has it down to perfection, and unless it ever happens, I just can't realistically see anyone beating it.

The ref might have stopped Ricky's flow a bit, but I really doubt he made much difference to the outcome of the fight. Floyd was too accurate and too fast with his hands and on his feet. Ricky had more time to get into shape for welterweight and he looked in better shape than against Collazo but just not technically good enough.

There won't be a rematch, this was too one sided. Not saying that Ricky was never in the fight, but Mayweather never looked in any danger at all. He wasn't getting hit, he wasn't getting tired, he wasn't getting complacent, and Ricky wasn't throwing many punches. I haven't seen his fight vs De La Hoya yet but having seen him tonight and against Judah a while ago now, DLH must have been amazing to pull off even a split decision loss...

Whole thing is messed up why wasn't ricky throwing punches seems very odd to me i can only conclude he didn't get any sleep pre fight nerves

Richie Woodhall on 5live mentioned Cintron just now... But still, Hatton Vs Cintron? Doesn't sound that attractive does it. And there was some premature talk before the fight of DLH vs Hatton, but I don't know how likely that is to happen now.

Kermit would knock him out IMO
Kermit is too big a Welterweight (147lbs) and too big a puncher for Ricky to handle.

Which is what I said, there is no one at all in the 140lb division to fight.
There aren't any big name lightweights either that look like stepping up which is another problem.

Ricky is going to really struggle to find a decent opponent unless he stays at Welterweight.

I wouldn't take anything anything away from Mayweather there, he has supreme ability in not taking punishment, through stopping them in the first place, dodging them and simply allowing very little to get through. You will rarely see Mayweather in REAL trouble (which he was never in tonight if we're being honest), quite amazing given some of the people he's faced.
I SAID MAYWEATHER WOULD WIN

Pure brilliance!!!
Don't know why you're gloating as if you just predicted San Marino would win the world cup.
