Saving Sessions / Demand reduction thread

We're actually not dumping much, you want to see what the guys can do with three phase systems.

I've got an 8kW inverter, so I just set it to export the maximum, and we reduce our usage as much as possible as well, so I'm pretty much pumping out a continuos 8 kW, although I did have some dips on the red grid export line - wife came in with the shopping, but only really lights put on, fridge freezer opened to put it away.

My GivEnergy battery has a maximum charge/discharge of 3.6kW. 5kw inverter though - not that that helps in the winter!

Compared to last year's saving session dates, that might be it until January.

2022
November - 3 Sessions
December - 2 Sessions

2023
November - 2 Sessions
December - 3 Sessions
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that there were going to be at least 12 sessions this year, 6 before the end of December and another 6 before the end of March. Obviously there could be more if needed. I'm assuming the 12 planned sessions are all "test sessions" but don't know if having a real session will count against the number or not, I think the two events that paid £4 were real sessions, so depending on whether or not they are counted as part of the 6, we could have at least another 3 coming before the end of December.

It'll depend on the weather, cold, wind, grid demand and supply.
What happened last year is irrelevant really.

From the link Ron put up yesterday then the two higher paying sessions were real.
The lower paying are test.

I do think however that whilst they are test, they are still making a real impact, its just they are not desperate requirement as opposed to nice to have.

Also I think the point of the test sessions is likely to be different this year to last. I think last was mainly, do they work, can they make a difference.
This year seems shorter notice to some extent and I wonder if its more focussed on notice and timings.
Plus of course this year moved the in day out of scope and brought export into scope. (Export being really dumb to be excluded last year of course).

I believe as part of the scheme NG guarantee at least 12. Obviously there is work for the energy companies and to get public engagement there needs to be enough to actually garner some momentum.

@200sols Whilst they take that into account, I suspect they have an idea of how many sessions they intend to run this winter.

Let's hope @Tavis75 is right again with another 3 this month.

From last night's session, the App suggests £14.52 from 6.453kWh saved calculated as 4.857 Exported and 1.596 Baseline.

Should be about £5 for yesterday, bringing my total to approximately £45 so far, I do envy you guys whose batteries have higher discharge rates! I have a GivEnergy 3KW AC inverter, so generally exporting just over 2-2.5KW after house usage (admittedly I could probably cut down some of my usage, but for the sake of an extra pound or so per session I'd rather have the telly on!)
