Saving Sessions / Demand reduction thread

Nice, good to get the early heads up as think I may need to charge or at least pause my battery unless the solar picks up a bit (and the forecast suggests it wont to any great degree).

Cheers @200sols.

Weather forecasts sunny intervals here today, however looking overhead suggests those intervals if they arrive will be short-lived, so a battery charge will be needed if I'm to discharge 5kWh later.

Interesting.

I also see some discussion about using energy during the likely session times on days when there aren't sessions. I have considered that as my battery is tending to go flat before I reach my 2am cheap rate, so pausing the battery from about 16:30-19:00 might be sensible as I'd be using the grid energy then, rather than later. Only slight issue is that being on flux I'd pay more for it at those times, though with sessions coming as regularly as they are I should still easily come out ahead. It also does just feel a little like playing the system though.

Yes, early would be good, I can probably export a bit more then! 7-8am would be good as I was considering going to do my Christmas shop tomorrow around then, so could turn everything off! Did we have any early sessions last year, I can't remember? And if so, what sort of time were they?

I've only ever been notified once from the Octopus app.

There's no sun today but luckily I can chanrge my battery up via IOG today as i've been given slots all afternoon.

This is getting seriously wacky now
I have a power up from 3-5pm so free power
at 5pm a saving session so I can then get paid to export all the energy they just gave me for free!

Edit, thanks to those who picked up a posted the early warnings, octopus site gets properly slow when it hits mainstream
ggggrrrrrrrrr I hate you lucky power up people :D

Speaking of the SS I better top battery up, time to check agile slots.

Edit
Crap, im 20m into a 17p slot.

Looks like the session tomorrow is 17:00 to 18:30, so not early but 1.5 hours, looks to be the usual test price though so guess it will be £2.25 from Octopus.
