Schumacher to Mercedes GP?

Ferrari and the Fiat group really wouldn't care about getting some time in a suzuki.

I expect he's been under a contract for years stating that he can't do any publicity, events, races etc etc in non Fiat group cars. That's a perfectly reasonable clause for the driver/ambassador roles he has had.

Looking like it's going to happen then.

The "Two Michael's" joke from Montezemolo went on for 5 paragraphs two long in that article.

"Of course, I will have a lot of fans on our website very upset. They think Michael is a traitor. But I will explain to them it is not Michael but another one.
wow he seems to have mental issues.

yea its okay tifosi the real michael schumacher is locked in our basement :D

the guy driving for mercedes is just someone with the same name who is identicle to michael schumacher in every way!

Well it will definitely bring in much more publicity for F1 this season if he does sign. Could only be a good thing for F1

I'm quite looking forward to seeing him race again, but I really can't see him sticking around for a very long time.

He retired from F1 for a reason. He's been out a few years and probably misses it more than ever, but I can just imagine him slowly but surely remembering why he retired, and bowing out within a year or two.

Seems like the plan is for Schumacher to make a return for 1, maybe 2 years at a push, whilst Mercedes work on getting Vettel (talk of them buying him out of his last year at Red Bull), at which point I'd fully expect Schumacher to retire again.

Whether he'll be up there for the next 1-2 years is the question, I think he'll be there or thereabouts, but either way it's gonna be interesting to see Massa Vs Alonso Vs Schumacher Vs Hamilton, and hell I'll even throw Rosberg and Button in the mix as well (although I think they'll both be outshone by their teammates, although same could be said about Massa however much I'd rather Alonso coming off second best :p)

Add in Kobayashi for Sauber playing the mad man and it's gonna be great, as long as there are no stupid teams cheating/drivers crashing/steward decisions for once...

I must admit that I have great expectations for 2010. I believe it is going to be every bit as great as 2007 - if not better - with the top drivers, all in top cars, vying for leading positions. The problem I had with 2009 is that 3 of the best drivers (Hamilton (2008 WDC)/Alonso (2006 WDC)/Kimi (2007 WDC)) were, for the most part, in slow cars. I'm hoping that in 2010, all the best drivers will be in the best cars.

My own belief is that MS won't be as quick as he once was. He has had his day and he retired at the right time. I don't see why he is coming back, but seeing him race in 2010 can only be a good thing, as it adds to the anticipation and spectacle of F1.

So what's the odds on him not coming back, I still think it's unlikely. I can't fathom why or for what reason he would want to come back.
