I've not given this much thought but for the indy supporters how will Scotland potentially leaving the Union impact on people and businesses given the UK will leave the EU with a policy of not allowing free movement of residence and work for anyone outside the UK.
Will Scots not already resident in Northern Ireland, Wales and England have to apply for a Visa to travel, live and work in Wales, England and Northern Ireland the same as a resident of France or Greece? Would Scottish goods and services have to be subject to an as yet to be thrashed out trade agreement, not only with the rUK but the EU? What happens to Scottish industry in the mean time if there's no trade agreements in place - the EU have already said it could take 10 years to agree new trade agreements with the UK. There's no guarantee Scotland would even be fast tracked back into the EU given the well publicised concerns from member states such as Spain struggling with their own nationalist parties.
What would the impact be if there is a "hard" border between the countries as there could well be given the rejection of open borders and freedom of movement forms a main tenant of the Brexit vote? It seems unlikely the rUK voters would be sympathetic to a "special" arrangement such as likely will be in place for Northern Ireland and Eire under the circumstances given the precedent of the previous vote to remain as part of the UK, the Brexit vote then followed by the perceived "slap in the face" from the nationalists dragging the country through yet another divisive referendum and then rejection of the Union (if that was the result).
Of course raising this opens up the opportunity for the jeers of "Project Fear" and "Too wee, too poor and too stupid" but I can't help but think it's likely to be more of a potential option this time than it was last given the result and focus of Brexit.
