Scottish University Fees facing Legal Challenge

Scotland shouldnt be paying for ANY students apart from Scottish ones.

The EU can **** off IMO.

Most of the foreign students have no intention of paying off any loans at all.

Its disgraceful.

As for the English students... well you voted the English government in, DEAL with it.

Surely if its EU legislation, why dont UK students go abroad and take advantage like they do over here?

Actually we all voted the current government in, democracy and all that..

I wonder if people realise this will add fuel for the SNP ?

Everything has its political clout and this is quite a nice barrel of it, mind you by now i expect no one to like the EU (real terms anyway), so no doubt we will simply take the easiest option and cut the free (taxed out of our pockets) payments to European citizens.

Though who knows.

I already made a slightly thought out plan (in the PS) to devolve sovereign powers to all 4 nations, with a special parliament to deal with intraunion (military, general economic plans, certain massive building projects, etc) affairs, that way all the separate parliaments can work without being annoyed by another one across the borders (transparency and where to put the blame is difficult frankly).

The Union is 300 years old, its archaic and needs a replacement rather than simply devolving some parts of power to separate arms of the UK.

The scots have had it FAR to easy for far to long. Wouldn't say no to granting the sods their independance.

Not really up to you or anyone else other than Scots themselves these days tbh.. regardless of legal technicalities or anything else if the SNP held a referendum and the vast majority went for it then they'd get it regardless.

The simple fact is that a free education for non Scottish people would bankrupt Scottish Universities then the government when they try to prop them up as they cry more at the pain and make it less likely that Scottish students would receive places due the squeeze.

To be honest I don't want to leave the UK as a group, but I want it to be a proper Union where each nation comes together as the UK rather than this puppet on string that's had some of its cords cut so it can at least crawl on its knees. To be honest I in part consider myself in some small part European as well and I think the UK as a whole needs to consider it as well.

Lets be frank the 'Union' as it was called was no Union back when it happened, it was the selling of Scotland by nobles at the time to England because the English king at the time bankrupted these said nobles. The word 'Union' used was a sham for the masses to make the bitter pill sound at least reasonable while the nobles recouped their losses from overseas investments.

This is similar to what I would like to see, although with England chopped up as well. I would like to see each part have identical powers, will never happen though.
