***Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice***

Loving the game but bugger me are some of the bosses tough, more so than I remember any of the Dark Souls ones being! So far I had most trouble with Seven Ashina Spears mini-boss (I'm at the Senpou temple and have just defeated the mini-boss down to the right from the bonfire), I'd get the mikiri counters right but maintaining aggression was so tough with the amount of posture damage he does, even when deflecting. Even getting hit once was a death sentence as I'd back off to heal and his bar would recover fast! All this after removing his first deathblow via stealth. In the end I cheesed him by hanging off the ledge of the platform at the top of the stairs leading to the temple and slashing his ankles hehehe!

What boss is this? cant remember any mini bosses other than...
the guy with long claws?

If it's close to the bonfire, then it's that one.

I did Senpou yesterday in one go, thinking of farming money to buy all the bags available. I'm past Genichiro and the minibosses like Ashina Spears or Lone Swordsman but I'm not sure how much money I need for every worthwile thing and I'll probably be dying to further bosses so don't want to lose too much.

I dont think there is anything 'too' expensive other than mask fragments or specialist gords. If you need to you can
Do farming runs through Hirata estate using possession and wealth balloons that give tons of XP and sen

Ok without Acceding and Descending carp those guys are ***holes, even perfectly deflecting i think they do too much posture damage to get past without total fluke?

Don't know as I already had those skills then. already I deflected the flurry, it can even be mashed out. That did tons of damage to his posture and then he did that perilous sweep so I jumped on him and he was done. He doesn't have any other attacks.

If you deflect perfectly, the enemy can't break your posture even if your meter is full.

As you say i had those skills before i met them and it was cake but ive read people say if you meet them before getting the skills they can mash through you pretty bad in a couple hits.

All right, reached the gun fort and done Shirafuji and that Centipede thingy. He was a joke but Shirafuji... oh, well. Died two times, then decided to use Sabimaru to poison her beforehand. I guess that was the first time I used a prosthetic other than an occasional shuriken but I just couldn't be bothered and wanted my prayer bead:p

I'd advise everyone to make a backup of your saves after a session (c:/users/AppData/Roaming/Sekiro) as the game is quite prone to save data corruption if you don't close it properly or it crashes. Happened to me once when I fortunately wasn't too far in (Alt+F4'd like an idiot).

Should save you some hassle:)

I haven't done much yet, but I'm loving this!

Same here, best From combat so far, so satisfying when it clicks. The prosthetics, though I rarely use them, are really cool.
And it's a rare case of a game that works without tons of patches:p

The atmosphere is spot-on. At first it seems a bit tame but once you get further in, it's not any less eerie than Bloodborne:p Also, no more rolling around on the ground constantly or farming to have an easier time with bosses.

To me these last couple of months have been the best period for gaming in quite some time with RDR2, this, RE2 and DMC5.

With the changes in movement with the grappling hook I wasn't sure it would manage to keep the sense of exploration and atmosphere that comes with it from the Souls games but it definitely has.

Only thing that is slightly annoying me is the way it keeps taking you out of stealth. For example, you sneak along then go to hug the wall, you stand up and are still standing when you stop. Same sometimes for dropping down from places.

Unrelated note- I never realised how easy it was to just plug in a dualshock 4 and play. Well happy with that after my PC controller died. I was very close to ordering a new one!

Just done a certain bigger boss (without spoiling anything) first try, I loved his frantic movement:D Used up my stuff during first phase learning his moves but was on point with parries in the second, it was close:p

Unfortunately looks like I'm gonna have to stop playing now. My PC is just not playing right. Think I'll get an upgrade sorted out then start again in a few weeks.
