***Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice***

Whats happening with the PC? seems like you had a stable system till you played Sekiro?

Nah its nothing to do with the game. It has just been running crazy hot recently and Sekiro has pushed it to its limits(though it had struggled in games recently too). I just need a new heatsink for now.

It's my own fault, I've not opened my PC up in years. I'm planning on getting a new cpu/mobo fairly soon, but a new cooler will see me through for now.

I've gone back to Horizon Zero Dawn for now, which I have to say is a really good game...but I'd rather be playing Sekiro!

Ah fair enough, get those upgrades as Sekiro is worth it! :)

Yeah I am really enjoying Horizon, but if I had a choice I'd be playing Sekiro now simply because even though there is no multiplayer component, one of the great things about From games for me is playing them along with others and comparing progress.

I get that, I was the same with Bloodborne, it was fun just talking with people about how I beat bosses, how many tries it took etc. Well, Sekiro makes me do the same:p

I even feel like playing DS3 I bought almost a year ago dirt cheap and played it like 20mins but I don't know if I'll be able to get into Souls after Sekiro and BB.

I don't get the lukewarm reaction Dark Souls 3 gets sometimes. For me it is probably the best game of the series.

I think it's a good game, it's just that I started with BB and preferred the pace and combat and Sekiro has upped the ante even further so the transition might be painful.

It's all preference as usual, I found the lore, level design and overall atmosphere of BB mîles above DS3 and the combat just worked better for me. I guess I'm just not much of a DS guy.

It's probably the smoothest game in the series in terms of gameplay but for me it just felt too samey. There were only a couple of areas in the game that actually felt fresh and not something we'd seen once or even thrice before. Irithyll was fantastic and the Profaned Capital had so much potential but ended up being disappointingly short. I'm also in the camp that felt enemies were too quick and aggressive compared to the previous games. I love BB don't get me wrong but I felt DS3 was trying to hard to merge DS and BB together and didn't really hit it out of the park with either.

Saying all that I do love the game and it features the best set of bosses in the series in my opinion.

And beaten! :D
What a game, enjoyed every second on it, even the last boss which took well over an hour to beat.

Unlike previous From Software games, I didn't have a single temper tantrum, no thrown controllers or screaming "bulls***!" at the screen.
Maybe I've finally mature now that I'm getting close to 40, but I think the reason was that I loved the combat so damn much.

I thoroughly enjoyed it too. Best From Soft game so far IMO.

Did you beat all the optional bosses though? Including the second encounter with a certain important figure?

Don't know about all the optional bosses, wasn't following a guide, though would like to on my 2nd playthrough so I can see everything.

I did the severance ending, but I did go the wrong way at 1st and managed to kill the demon of hatred, damn tough fight that was.

I wanted to play so much I dug out a 5 year old stock cpu cooler that I never used to replace my broken one. I'm even using the thermal paste that was pre-applied to it 5 years ago!

It is temporary, but I can play and my temps are acceptable...:p

Going through
Ashina Depths
, done
Shirahagi
and
those two bloody apes
with the
Fushigiri
for the achievement.

Love the atmosphere of this game, really. The cryptic dialogues, the locations, the use of mythology like the Kubinashi or Mizaru, Kikazaru and Iwazaru a.k.a the Folding Screen Monkeys (props to the translator:D)
Wish the game was even bigger, I don't want it to end just yet, assuming I can finish it.

I agree. I think I preferred DS1, but 3 I found far better than 2 and I'm still enjoying my NG+ play-through after finally finishing the DLCs. 1 and 3 are amongst my favourite games of all time.

Yeah, though I did think The Ringed City was a nice addition as well. Ariandel less so, though I still liked it. Both DLCs added to the already nice variety and quality of bosses, too.

The relevance for Sekiro here for me is that I struggle the most in DS3 with the relentless, fast, aggressive human-type bosses far more than any other. The only ones that have given me real problems in Dark Souls 3 have been the Princes, Friede, and Gael. But *oh boy* did they give me problems! (Like, over 15 deaths to the Princes and 20 deaths to Friede problems, and having to resort to cheesing Gael with toxic mist and shield-strafing because I was getting torn apart...)

I find fighting the monster type enemies relatively straightforward (even Midir I had a comfortable handle on quite quickly and coasted to a very comfortable victory on my sixth attempt), but these guys who constantly press (especially Friede and Gael!), harry you when you need to heal, mix up fast moves and combos that I find hard to get a handle on... I just go to pieces!

Now, would I be right in thinking this sums up all the Sekiro bosses? I'm a bit concerned it will play against my biggest weaknesses and give me a real torrid time. :(

While the majority of the bosses are as you describe, Sekiro has mechanisms in place to deal with their quick nature, as it’s the core gameplay mechanic. If you play Sekiro like DS you will fail miserably (with one optional boss excepted).
